No. Don't do that. Take the subscription and use "Lightroom Classic". It will have the workflow you are used to and will automatically update your catalog without destroying your old one.

Lightroom CC is a new more "mobile" editing program. You will get it with the subscription but it will be a major change to your workflow. As you move forward with the subscription you will find good ways to use Lightroom CC with Lightroom Classic.

Lightroom CC keeps your images on Adobe Servers. Therefore you can work with them from as many devices you can find that are connected to the internet. Lightroom Classic (like the one you are used to) can be used on two computers. There is NOTHING purposefully built into Lightroom Classic to make it a multi user system. All efforts at that are user invented tricks. One such trick is to put the catalog on an external drive with the photo files but that normally slows it down a lot.

With the upgrade to the current Lightroom Classic you will find less need for Photoshop. But, since it is included in the subscription, it has several things it can do better than Lightroom. My favorite is the removal of ugly tourists in my travel photos.

I have been reading about the difficulties with LR6 and the new Mac OS.Unfortunately my 4 yr old Mac book pro had a fatal accident. I purchased a new Mac book pro with Catalina OS 10.15 and LR6 actually seemed to work. Then it upgraded to 10.15.5. Now it won’t open. It just winks at me for a millisecond and closes. So I assume unless anyone out there uses LR6 with OS 10.15.5 I will move on to LRCC. My photos are on an external drive. I understand any editing becomes saved in the new catalog which can only be interpreted by LRCC. Any one out there using CC with OS 10.15.5? Can I install LRCC on a second computer? How do save a second copy of the original catalog? CC is the non cloud version (?)and I have never used PS before ..Any Suggestions ?
Thanks for any remarks or warnings

I am preparing a series of about
100 photos in Lightroom slideshow to be presented on line on both small mobile devices and computers and possibly a projector screen. How should the photos be saved and exported so that they fit on each device ?Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

I have been using a Canon pro 100 with Lightroom6 ,canon studio pro on an Apple laptop with a calibrated monitor with good screen/color/print accuracy..recently colors have been inaccurate. I think may have changed something in my printer setup but cannot correct the problem. I print in Pro mode and let the printer manage the color. Never used paper profiles but select paper in printer setup. Any suggestions

I recently returned from a 4 country 3 week trip to S Africa,Botswana,Zimbabwe and Namibia. On most safaris you will not be walking around. ( not safe ). A real long lens is difficult to use. Many times there is insufficient time to switch lenses not to mention the dust. I brought two crop bodies and a 16-80 and a 70-300. I thought I had 95% of everything covered. Have fun

I have been to S Africa,Patagonia and Hawaii in the past 2years with 2 cameras and a Monopod in my Carry on. No problems. In Johannesburg the baggage handlers ripped the lock off my checked bag and helped themselves to my 10 yr old electric razor. I was told they stickey fingers at that airport.
