I think this retro-McDonald's is TOO cool!
This one is in Ocean City Maryland and I nearly missed it looking for historical buildings on a recent photo trip there!
Naturally, I had to get many shots and play with some of them for effect, too.

finally--someone 'read' the question...not saying thats what the questioner realized what they wrote, just saying,'it was
"read",and answered as written'... thank you..--joe
Something to consider here. Every year about this time the parks hire about 2000 people for each park. The season lasts about 6 months. Usually from May til November. There are several job catagories to choose from. We get new faces in the Mariposa grove every year. A lot of people who are retired will work at a different park every year. You can go to Yosemitepark.com for more info. I will be starting my 9th season any day now, and I have NEVER had a job that's this much fun.[/quote]
as you can figure, from my comment 'I can remember'.. I was about 8 at the time, and because of unfortunate circumstances,
not able to work, as I would like to.. so your info[known to me]
is great info for others who-should-be interested..if you haven't
guessed--I love the "wild", even that tamed into a park..--joe

Well y'all, I had a real rough day today doing all my pre-season drug testing, paperwork, uniform control and all the other fun stuff I've done for 8 years already. However, this year, I'm doing it a month earlier than usual due to NO SNOW!!! It was still beautiful there, waterfalls were not at capacity, but they should be real soon. Two more storms headed this way. So if you're planning a trip to the park, C'mon up, it's beautiful here. I will be driving the open air tram in the Mariposa grove of giant Sequoias...... Where size REALLY does matter. Just ask for John, I'm the one who's always smiling there.
Well y'all, I had a real rough day today doing all... (

'don't' shoot none of them injuns
I know most people don't think of this, and it's not a big deal in most cases, but as someone with Native American heritage, the 'injun' word is not flattering. I'd just say that Native Americans in that area don't necessarily like their photo taken unless it's a public thing. Just like when in Amish country, you have to be careful about taking people's photo. Ask first, if in doubt.
hey Les--just a funny,since I considder myself one of them"injuns"...I'm unlucky,,,I can't trace it for proof..
all I can do is trust grandma word---and live& believe...
I'm to old,, but ---THANK YOU.... joe
my problem is,,I remember these places when they were open[and mostly free].. while your there-don't forget the small stuff,,wildlife/bugs/minerals/fossils/[some]locals AND don't pass up Wall Drug....its something else--also remember it when it was one building[big, but one]...
to paraphrase another saying--"shoot till you drop" and
have fun.. joe
pps; just thought[remembered] 'don't' shoot none of them injuns...unless you ask or its a public show--some are very private and do not apprciate any photogs, unless public show..

Maybe I am totally wrong, but I thought the Spotmatic wasn't even introduced until 1964 as the Asahi Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic?

I've been a Pentax user since about about 1950, and still am. Here's a photo taken last year at a fireman's parade. I wonder how the drum major reacted. I love the photo ... not so much for its technical attributes, but for the captured moment in time.
hi; nice to see a pentaxian older[pentax user] than me..from all post I've seen[this/other threads],I was beginning to think I was a dinosaur,,,I started with spotmatic in 1959..loved it then/love it now..currently using x-70[best I could afford/handle]..would prefer the old-two rings/one dial,"click", to all this, push this button/get that screen/push,push to select that option,touch/push to select that-'whatever',etc,etc-adneousiam[sp] to finally set up to take a simple pic..
but I LOVE MY PENTAX...---joe

I had to go out of town today on a job and the sun came out for about 30 minutes. I took a couple shots of the South side of the Crazy Mountains in Sweetgrass County, Montana. (Yes, the one the Everly Brothers sang about). Hope you like them.
