I dont know your camera. There are companies that make external battery packs for your camera. some rechargeable and some that use disposable cells. Quantum makes rechargable ones in 6 and 9 volts.

The cool thing about them is that they give you a bunch of exposures. I use them when im shooting the new years day parade and in cold weather. they sit outside the body and can be put under your jacket.
they arent that exspensive and work great. so check them out.

It's never been only about the photographer or only about the camera. It's always been about the photographer using the best and most appropriate tools for the job.

I'm sitting here right now listening to Rafael Aguirre play the guitar. I happen to know he plays an Alhambra guitar -- nice instrument. I doubt he'd show up at a concert with a guitar he bought at Walmart. Arguably he'd play it as well as possible but such a tool would prove severely limiting to the point of making the attempt to play it futile.

It's always been both the artist and her/his tools together.

SO your saying that you cant shoot sports with a 4x5 speed graphic.

Examine remote battery packs for your body. It's basically a battery housing with a long cord. You place the housing inside your clothing and use the chord to your camera

this is my first post in the macro section. I have always been interested in macro and micro photography, but I have never really tried it. So this is my first venture in I have both of the medical Nikkors, I grabbed the 120 and headed to the front yard. These shots are hand held and even though I have the ac units to power the built in flash but I was using it available light. I am so impressed with the output of this lens. I cant wait for the temp to go down so I can get the 200 medical out and give it a try.

I just got this lens and I am blown away. The vr is phenomenal. Handheld shots at 500 mm at 1/30 of sec. The focus is so smooth and fast. And it focuses as close as 8 feet. I would love to see the output on dx d500. O wow i feel gas pangs. Lol.

I just got a beautiful used Nikkor 35 F2 ais. Using it on my D800E In aperture priority mode the meter shows one stop less than the lens setting. Ie the camera display reads f4 and the aperture is set at f2.8. The exposure is good. I'm just trying to understand is this normal. Oh by the way I love the output of this lens.

Judging by the exuberance of your post, your not ready for a medium format camera but then again, if you consider $10,000 cheap for a camera...be my guest.

Its inexspensive compared to other medium format digital cameras as stated in other posts. Ive been shooting medium and large format for over 20 years. Its time to go digital. Thanks for your approval.

Its your gear use it like you want. I use to do a lot of street shooting with a hasselblad 500C. Then i bought a Mamiya 6 i thought it would be great i didn't have to carry a light meter any more. But tge in camera meter sucked so i went back to the Hassy. I have a lot of friends who only shoot with cell phones . But i come from using large format and im lookinh for the very best image quality. So im with you 100 percent. Im looking to get a gfx 100 soon.

Happy shooting

Or, buy a brand new D850 with the "Holy Trinity" of 2.8 lenses from 14-200mm, shoot with far more versatility and creativity with only marginal, if that, improvement in final image, and write each of your kids a check for the difference you've saved...

The thing is that I got a pair of 800e and a bunch of lenses including the holy. I have always liked medium and large format. And I have been waiting for a camera like this for an long time.

My only reservation about cropped sensor cameras. Is that i love extreme wide angle. I have a 121mm lens for 8x10. 65mm for 4x5. 47 mm for medium format. And the 14 to 24 nikkor.
