But remember before the kids can get their inheritance 102 MP isn't much.

Yes compared to other 100 MP digital Medium format cameras. The Hasselblad is $28000.

That puts it in more perspective. If you do this, enjoy it. Do you have GFX lenses to put on it?

Full Frame 40+ Mp is more than enough for me.

I'm hanging tough until 200mpx is surpassed... I don't want to waste my money by purchasing the 100, then finding out I should have waited. Same goes for 12K video...

Leica S3 64MP--price not announced but Leica S 37.5 MP is $19,995.
So Fujifilm GFX 100 102MP looks like quite a bargain at $9,999.95

Or, buy a brand new D850 with the "Holy Trinity" of 2.8 lenses from 14-200mm, shoot with far more versatility and creativity with only marginal, if that, improvement in final image, and write each of your kids a check for the difference you've saved...

Ask and answer yourself this question: What use do you have for a camera sensor with a specification of 102MP? After all, a camera with a smaller camera sensor might serve you just fine at lower cost.

Accordingly, your anticipated use of this camera will give you a measure to help you decide whether or not to buy it.

In addition, know that while medium format cameras have their uses, they also have their limitations.

The big question: Are you good enough to really make use of 100 MP? Also consider the next generation of 35mm sensors are going to be between 80-100 MP.

It's your $, you decide, but don't cry here when the platform fails.

Personally, I don't think Fuji has got the "ease of use" paradigm figured out.

Depends on how you define "ease of use". I found the Nikon 5500 the most difficult camera to use I ever had. Gave it away. Every time I had to change something I had to go searching the menus. Damn! I didn't want another computer, just a camera! I can change everything I need to on the Fuji body. I think I last looked at a menu a couple of months ago.

Neither are inexpensive IMHO. Before dumping that much money in, I suggest you consider the present day value of older MF digital cameras. For 30% of that amount you could buy a pretty darn good DSLR (D850). Best of luck.

Great point for some of us, like the concept of the "weakest link". Sure, my pictures might be better with a FF or MF camera, but a 24MP DX serves me very well for learning new skills like PP software and where best to have prints made, things I did not carry with me from film. When I am happy enough with my PP skills, computer setup, etc. I will likely upgrade to a camera with the potential for greater IQ. A Fujifilm MF is certainly on the list of candidates, if not the D850, Z6, or similar FF.
