It is amazing to me…some of the old movie streamers will have 15 commercials in a row.
ALSO, I do not like the the volume is always increased for a commercial. Seems invasive.
NO FREE LUNCH, I dispute the person who said no free lunch. I am being seen by Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic and I sometimes have 3 days to schedule a flight…prices range up to $2500 for roundtrip for my wife and no direct flights and American Airlines is c r a m p e d seating. Alegent just announced direct flights for $58 - no kidding. A friend goes to Orlando, Fl, every year for $58 on Alegent and has never had a problem. Neither of the two fees makes any sense to me. For the high fee, yes you have to pay for each bag, no meal, NOTHING EXTRA.

So much atmosphere captured and pedestrian adds such interest and proportions. It’s so easy to forget that our own neighborhood, when caught by an artists eye does not require a trip or a lot of preparation.

My experience with Nikon service center was fantastic. I sent my D750 for a repair, suddenly wouldn’t focus. Was repaired and so much more…cleaned inside and out and new grips - exactly like new!!!

Some relationships transcend lifetimes. As an introvert who doesn’t have lots and lots of friends (it comes with being an introvert) God is compassionate and gave us the truest love and friendship possible - our pets. I used to bury our pets, then cremations become available. We have a nice cherry cabinet in our den and each ashes container is different and has the name and date engraved. We have the collar with tags next to each container. The size of each container is proportional to the pet’s size and many are wood and beautiful. Stupid as it may seem, we’ve ordered a simple little 8” tall angel with hands together like praying. When I stand there, the collars from 20 years ago and others are so personal and validates a lot of time together with memories of special times together. One time, when I was silently depressed, my family insisted that I take my favorite pictures and make an 11 x 14 book and it has been so therapeutic. Do it for yourself to validate that he or she really had a good life. My wife and I are both veterinarians and it is such an honor to be asked to help them leave. We have an outside entrance to our bereavement room with a big soft vinyl couch for people an pet, we have the owner give a gentle pre-medication orally prior to arrival. Thus, No anxiety about the iv injection and gently, peacefully gone. Family can stay with pet as long as desired and then walk out to car. There is no waiting room or payment transaction - too emotional - as our philosophy is that if your pet was our patient, we do not charge a fee (we do for the cremation but not if just taken home).
Remember, there are so many pet needing adoption. It is popular now to bypass puppyhood and house training, etc. Some great pets are relinquished to shelters because of a family’s financial situation or an owner forced to go into a retirement facility. One of our employees adopted a client’s pet because the elderly gentleman had to go to a retirement home and she would pick him up and go to a park so the two could reunite or in bad weather, just pick him up and all go to McDonalds and have lunch and Mitzi loved getting pieces of a plain burger from her “dad.” A very special young lady who went to nursing school and I know she’s great to her patients.
Good luck to everyone who has a loss.

I’ve been using LR Classic and when I watched the Adobe tutorials, I was humbled by all the tweaking…often correcting things I thought were OK but usually liked the additional changes. I’m wondering if Luminar might be something I would enjoy, love your thoughts. Curious, how hard and how long to learn? Thank you so much. (I put Luminar in a Hedgehog search and all that can up seemed very old submissions.)

I just decided to upgrade to a new computer with a faster processor, graphics card and 4 TB CCD. My LR photos are under 1 TB. Currently, when I do a backup (old computer)it takes about 24 hrs and then again for the 3rd backup spinner. I worry that a long copy time period has a greater probability of a power blink or whatever. I’m also considering also using LR (cloud) so I’m not the only one responsible for backing up (so to speak). I have not used LR (cloud) but hope I will like it and be less worried.

I just opened LR 2 days ago and saw “catalog cannot be found” and it asked something like “can I find it for you” and bingo it loaded with a catalog that had no pictures. I freaked. I always call free Adobe Support since I have a subscription and after two different sessions where a technician logged onto my computer, it was finally up and running. I have 3 external drives, use one, store another in house and have the third off site. I am so fed up with ME DOING STORAGE and worrying about data loss that I am going to use both and migrate winners to LRClassic for further modifications. As backups, there is the cloud, and internal and external 4TB solid state drives.
I like photography but being responsible for computer backup’s of my life hobby is a stress that diminishes the pleasures of the hobby.

I’m almost 73 and retired and I have a D750 - recently a Hedgehog commented negatively about the 750 and of course Nikon kind of gave it a thumbs down when they came out with the D780? I’m impressed with the eye detect and focus for people and animals. I am considering Sony’s A1 but I haven’t had any interest in video, it doesn’t do stacking. The Nikon mirrorless is big for old guy hiking. So I am with you but curious - which Sony you considering.

I have had various Nikons and currently have a D750. I am 72 and like to hike so recently bought a Sony a6600 for weight reduction. As time and functionality is ticking, I think I’m going to splurge. Even though the 10 stated reasons the Nikon is better than the Sony a1 have validity, the Sony is lighter and the auto focus on people, pets and birds I suspect is better than Nikon’s (Sony has been developing that technology longer than Nikon) so I’m leaning toward Sony. I’m not a professional so on one hand me getting this level of camera is ridiculous but I just want to experience that resolution and focus technology.

The birds are beautiful - you really captured detail but the real icing on the cake is the reflections, WOW!

I was drawn to inexpensive (cheap) batteries (power tools & cameras) various times and invariably one of a pair fails. I’ve decided the hassle is not worth the savings. By the way, I have never had a name brand battery fail within 2 years of purchase.
