Maybe it was because I didn’t spend the big bucks, but my experience with the compact and “bridge “ cameras was the long delay between pressing the shutter button and the camera focusing and taking the picture.

Between my personal cameras and those I use at work, Fuji, Olympus, Sony, all of them left a lot to be desired. Fortunately, at work bulldozers, ponds, fences, terraces and woodlands don’t move very fast, if at all so the lag time hasn’t been a really big deal.

I’ve considered taking my old Nikon D50 to work. When I enlarge photos to document soil texture and rock formations, the quality really goes downhill with the small cameras and their small sensors. Even the ancient D50 can do a much better job there.

You can remove "full framed" from your wish list, I believe these types of cameras pretty much use 1" sensors.

Can you clarify:
1) does full frame mean full sensor?
2) do you want a high megapixel sensor?
3) does fixed lens system mean prime lenses? Or non-interchangeable lenses?

Not sure these will lead to a "small" system?

Questions for OP.

What are you looking for that your cell phone won't do?
How much are you willing to pay?
What do you mean by "small"?

Based on a lot of research... I don't own it (yet). I second the Sony RX10 m4. It has the most reach of any 1" sensor camera that I know of and the ones that offer more reach typically have the smaller sensors less than a half inch in size. Several folks here have them and seem very happy with their purchases, but beware when it comes time to put one in your shopping cart... it ain't cheap.

I’ve seen consistently good Sony rx10iv pictures from a Facebook club member.

From your question, I am not sure what you are asking for. Some have recommended the Sony RX10v4. I have used this camera and it is an excellent camera. BUT, it is not small in size or weight. It is quite heavy and equal in size and weight to many full-framed cameras.

I own and use a Sony RX100v3 and it is an excellent camera. It does have a learning curve, as do most Sony cameras, but it will do the job with a 20-megapixel sensor and all the modes one would need for most jobs. I have used this camera traveling extensively and have not noticed any shutter delays while taking images.

If Sony is not your preference, Canon and Panasonic both make excellent small travel cameras that produce excellent images.

Another option is a cell phone upgrade. I just bought my wife an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the photos it will take are amazing. I think Samsung also has some phones that have excellent cameras. When using the phones, one can edit the photos in the camera app and then instantly send them out as desired by email or text. Some of her photos and short videos rival camera/lens combos costing thousands more and weighing much more.

The Sony RX10m4 has a Zeiss 24-600 mm lens, not bad, and the results are good, but it is not SMALL.
A small full framed with a fixed telephoto lens is going to be interesting.
I use a SMALL camera that shoots RAW, I have printed beautiful 30X40 prints, has a built in Zeiss 24-720 mm lens, can shoot pano's, but is not full framed, but yet I can print sharp 30X40 prints without it having to have a large sensor. If that interests you, private message me and I will give you more info on this outstanding camera that can fit into you shirt pocket, or, a small belt pouch. Below are some sample images using this camera.

I really like my LUMIX ZS100. The current model is the ZS200.

Look into Leica w fixed lenses. Q2 camera with lens is 1 1/2 pounds, around 48 MP full frame. And there are other camera choices within that brand.
