Nice shot, but it is not a red shouldered hawk. I think it is a northern harrier.

Since Hannibal died about 180 BC, I hardly think Julius Caesar had anything to do with his death or the defeat of Carthage. Scipio Africanus is the man that did in Carthage.

I'm pretty good with bird ID's. but the image of just blurry tail feathers does make it a bit difficult. :)

The problem with it being a little blue heron is the all black bill. The only wading birds with all black bills are egrets. Sure wish I could see his feet. Very interesting bird. Hope someone comes up with an ID. At present I think it looks like a hybrid of some sort, but I sure don't know just what.

Go to Thom's site, select books, select older DSLR's. The 700 guide is there.

Palm Beach County Loxahatchee Wildlife refuge. They are usually there. I've got a number of shots of them over the years. Of course I live here so I get to go out there more often.

Good luck

I've watched a lot of egrets and herons with snakes. The snake doesn't stand a chance.

I had the same problem. Had a bit of a shock when I looked and saw seals instead of paratroopers.

Ft Bragg to me means North Carolina.

I was in a pub in London that had Budweiser. I asked the barmaid if they sold much and she said only to Americans.

Even here in the good old US of A you can go into a bar that has a dozen craft beers on tap and see people drinking bud light.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

Beats me.

Those are really good work. Do you know the name of the artist? And is it a local artist? Well known, either locally or a wider audience and if not, he/she ought to be.

I like them a lot.
