I am currently using a Zeikos bag. I also have others in different sizes. Sometimes my regular camera bag is really too big, and I change to something smaller. Other times I want more room.

Camera bags are available in any number of sizes and configurations. Your best bet would be to see if your things will fit in the g=bag that you are looking at. Several places have camera bags on hand for sale. Try Best Buy.........

Thanks, I have taken your advice and downloaded Picasa. I'll give it a try. I am new at this so I really welcome advice from those who know a lot more than me.

Hi, Is it possible to determine a shutter count on a Nikon D40? If I can, how do I do it? And, why would I care?

Thanks for your replies

IMHO the manuals that come with cameras are written with the assumption that one is already familiar with it. Often referring to things that one has to search for elsewhere in the manual, to understand.

Books, such as you mention, do not make this assumption and often give 'step by step' instructions.

As you say, practice changing settings, and also trying different settings with different light conditions. Then when you see something you want to photograph, you will have a good starting point.

I too think that the manuals supplied give the impression is that you all ready have knowledge about the camera. Bought the "Dummy" book for my Nikon and learned a lot more than from the Nikon manual.

Currently, I am using a Canon Pixima 3122 printer for all my printing. It does a good job of printing my photos that I have downloaded to my Laptop. It does not have a card reader. Previously, I used an Epson Workforce 600 for my printing needs. It printed well also. It had a card reader. I changed printers because the Epson was not an "air printer" whereas the Canon is. Either Canon or Epson should serve you well.

Just make sure that the lens is the "correct" lens for your camera. Sounds simple, but I have made this mistake, bought a lens for and older Nikon and it would not work. a beginners mistake
