I straightened bent pins (2) on my 7d by finding a syringe needle the right size, removing the angled tip of the needle so that the hole is 90 degrees from the shaft like the end of a straw. Only thing is to be careful to get the shaft of the needle all the way to the bottom of the pin because that's where the bend is.

No way they'll ruin your camera. But my experience with them on average is you'll get about half or a little more of the capacity for about a third of the cost.

Downsizing from my beloved 7D outfit to a small Canon SX50 due to advancing age (72) and worsening arthritis. This is the last of an outfit that included 5 lenses, tripod and other stuff.. I simply can't haul around 39 pounds of gear any more. Everything works as new and has had fanatical TLC. No scratches, dings or wear marks. Shutter count of the 7D body is 10,386 of a design life of 100,000. Equipment features and specs are too numerous to list here, but it's easily available online. The lcd has a removable JYC glass protector put on the first day. The "debri" seen in the photo are dust particles and reflections. I've had flip locks on fairly quality tripods break.There's nothing to break on a twist lock and they are unobtrusive going in and out of a carry case.
