We have a designated closet which I customized with shelving, I store my equipment in plastic boxes....labeled & easy to read. This works well for us, I
also have a 8’ table which holds my paper cutter, computer, scanner, & printers (2).
My tripod, camera bag & go to lenses are readily available . I’m presently preparing a list of gear for sale & donating some of my gear to our local camera club. Sometimes it pays to get rid of the equipment you don’t use......heart braking, since at one time it was precious and you couldn’t live without.

This is a excellent lens, fast & sharp, great for sports........however, for hockey you may be shooting too close, especially at 300-400 zoom, unless you want to shoot
very tight. I've used this lens shooting football games [behind the goal line & along the side lines] and got fantastic results. Also, a monopod would
be a big help....this is a heavy lens and the ability to rest between shots is to your advantage. Good luck.

Great photo, sharp & the colors are superb.

If you have 2 maybe 3 days I would take the high speed boat, then you will not be rushed. There is a lot to see & photograph........Hemingways house -museum, Capt. Tony's bar,
Sloppy Joe's on the main drag of Duval St., the old Lighthouse, the END of RT#1 and don't forget to ride the Conch Train which takes the passengers around KW. As a photographer I was in awe of ALL the
photo ops available. KW has its' charm. Exploring on your own is the fun part. I was able to walk into the above bars just before the crowd came in [I asked the bartenders permission]
to shoot some photos & they were always cooperative, [just don't get pushy]. I photographed KW and the other keys 3-4 times on different occasions. I used 1 lens the last time
I shot in the Keys.......28mm-300mm, which was very satisfying. I also rented a small scooter to get around town quickly and saved me time. ENJOY--ENJOY ! HAVE FUN !

Ken,
Tone mapping is in the software that you use, ie; Photomatixs.
This software is one of the pioneers in HDR, now there are other
companies riding on the "band wagon.
Some of the newer cameras are doing HDR in camera but not
the Nikon 5100.
You are correct. As far as I'm aware you can adjust EC in aperture, shutter priority and P.
On a cloudy day I probably won't use a polarizer lens, loosing to stops + affecting a slower shutter speed. However; bring the filter with you and make some test shots....and compare.
FOCUS ON THE GAME, should be the priority.

Larry,
Your image is "GREAT". Spent 3 months shooting birds in the "Everglades" this past winter. Your set up and patience shows a rewarding picture. Photographing birds in flight is quiet difficult.
My wife and I both commend you on a job well done. Keep up the good work.
Regards,
Len A ;-)
It is true that pythons have been released in the Glades, however, in 3 years photographing in the Everglades I have not seen any.
If you can afford it I recommend a guide and definitely experience the airboat or canoe trip.. Most important...use COMMON SENSE in unfamilar territory. Gators are everywhere and you should have no problems. Places to photograph off RT#41....Ten Thousand Islands, Everglade City (off RT#29), Shark Valley ALL entered
via RT#41 thru Naples. From the East Coast enter thru Homestead area of FL. The photography is great. Also, a MUST...visit Clyde Bucther's Gallery right on RT#41 for superb B&W photos 9 you'll be very impressed).
Have fun and good luck shooting.
I store my images exactly the same way as Roger H.
Also; at times I'll make a DVD for a specific purpose.

Everglades shooting along RT#41- Ten Thousand Islands,
Everglades City, Shark Valley. I've been shooting at these places
ALL WINTER, had good success. Remember, wildlife and birds is
ON THEIR SCHEDULE. Sometimes you get zero.....come back
several hours later........and the birds are plentiful. Patience and GOOD LUCK Len A
2 nice shots, I agree "sunsets" change quickly.
Color saturation of the sunsets are supper.
