I want to thank everyone who commented. You really gave me a bit to think about and I'm leaning more towards the tamron 70-200mm f/2.8.

Hello Hoggers. I'm using a Nikon D5600 with a Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 EX HSM used mostly for landscape and general photography, a Tamron SP 150-600mm 5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for wildlife and some sports and a Nikon DX VR AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm 4.5-6.3G ED for everything in between. These are the lenses I use most but would like to upgrade the 70-300mm just not sure with what. I've been looking at the Tamron 100-400mm 4.5-6.3 VC and the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 DG OS HSM. My concerns are that I might be giving up the reach with the Sigma of creating a gap between my 70-50mm to the 100-400mm with the Tamron, is there something else I should be looking at out there? I'm looking for ideas and advice from any members seeing that you guys know a hell of a lot more than me...

With the wrong camera, success is probably 99% luck. But with a mirrorless camera, it's 100% the photographer.

I really don't think with you it matters if you use one with a mirror or not.... it'll still be good

Your options are really all 'd' digital. For your other many acronyms, try MILC - mirrorless interchangeable lens camera.

When you imagine yourself as a successful photographer, do you see yourself holding a camera that still has a mirror?

A successful photographer can take a picture with any camera weather it has a mirror or not....

I read this part also

"I wished I was in a motorbike and could pull off onto whatever meager strip of shoulder the road might offer me."

Everybody just slow down and read the complete post.
