Take a deep breath, forget nearly everything the "Distinguished Photographer" said. Two things, a big Cheese always has to be that, ego! Second if he can't find all sorts of things wrong, how can he get you to take more and better classes. There is no one standard or size that fits all. Choose things you found useful, toss the rest and move on. You take lots of photos that are very fine, you did before the class, and will continue to do so!

If you are pre-ordering anything in photography be prepared to wait. I've been waiting 3 months for a Lumix lens with no sign that it will in stock any time soon. There is a global shortage of microprocessors with camera manufacturers being low on the totem pole in terms of getting much of the limited supply. The bulk of the microprocessors are going to the largest consumers such as phone and gaming machine manufacturers.

If you buy something from them be sure to sign up for their Payboo credit card. If you use it to buy from them they will refund your sales tax.

You can email Luminar tech support. Turn around is slow. Usually 2-3 days. They have solved my problems in past although the last time they gave up and told me to wait for the next update release

If you really must ave a camera that ONLY shoots stills look into The Leica M-10. It ain't cheap but it doesn't do video

I like the product but the original AI release crashed every time I used the erase tool. Version 2 doesn't crash but it leaves a black blotch where the erased item was. A second try at erasing removed the blotch but the shading did not match the surrounding area. I needed to dodge & burn to get the shading right. It's back to emailing with their tech people

Only 100+ bugs fixed? That's too bad. Wonder how many bugs they added.

Yes, I definitely hear you. With version 1 it crashed every time that I used the erase tool. Version 2 helped in that there was no crash but left a black blotch where the erased object was. A second erase was required to remove the black blotch.

I've bought every version since the 2018 version. I think I'm over them

There is no annual fee. Think the app is great except now in L-AI it consistently crashes when I use the erase tool. Skylum tech people can't figure it out. I'm really pissed.

If you don't want video capability get a Leica M-10. It doesn't do video. It's a little pricey but it would solve your GAS problem

I feel your pain. In my case using the erase tool crashed the program. After many emails they finally solved the problem but it took three weeks. I also had problems when I installed Luminar 4. They resolved those issues as well but it took weeks and too many emails. They should be able to do much better. They just choose not to.

I had same problem with the erase tool and it took weeks for the tech people to figure it out. They had me do different things that did not work.

Finally they told me to rename my current catalog folder to anything else and then create a new catalog folder. When did this I was prompted by Luminar with a drop down. That worked and now the erase tool works.

Good luck

The easiest way to shoot a manual lens is to set the camera for aperture priority. The camera will then set an appropriate shutter speed. You should probably use a manual ISO setting to force a higher shutter speed if necessary. Finally you may be too close for your lens to focus. That's why there are macro lenses.

Looking at your shots they are both under exposed and blurry. If it were me I would open the aperture a few stops and perhaps increase the ISO. This will force the shutter speed up.

Your issue sounds easy compared to my issue with the erase tool. Every time I use it Luminar just crashes. So far their techs haven't been able to solve it and its been weeks. All the other tools however do work fine

When you are on a bicycle or a scooter your only focus should be on the road. You cannot be a tourist. If you're fiddling with a camera you could wind up under a bus!
