Great work in comparing the lenses. But the one thing we all forget is how the lenses perform in real life. Every lens has its nuances. I mage comparisons are great starting points.

I shoot the R6 with the RF 800 F11. Its very decent lens however it has it's nuances, especially speed of focus and tracking targets. I don't doubt the RF 100-500 coupled with an R5, is tops in class when tracking and in speed of focus. On the other hand that combo is very pricey and somewhat heavy. After all you got that L lens and a great tracking/speed of focus combo that's hard to beat but a 6K price. For me my 800/R6 works and maybe when I win the lotto I move up to the RF100-500L and R5Mk2 combo.

This is very cool tech...but in the real world somewhat limited...unless of course you are: pixel peeping, there's no movement of your subject, got the computer hardware to support really large files.....but hey I would like the feature even if I never use it.....LOL....

ah another cell phone vs real camera vent....well what the heck I'll add my 2 cents. Cell phones can take great images for snaps, quick and dirties...but they will never capture: an eagle in flight, an F-22 in after burner mode etc.....none of my photo friends have ever shown me a 20 x 30 print of their cell phone images....Yes I like my cell phone and I take pictures with it. Great pictures are taken with tools, what tools and how we use those tools is up to us as well as the final products a hard copy print, enlargement, or finally, for most people a web/internet display. To each his own.

Before spending more $$$ why not rent a MFT and see how it works and how you like it?

OMG...you actually wanta to read a BOOK! how quaint and old fashioned...seriously all kidding aside the various recommendations made by others are very good. But before you invest in some $$$ why not go your local library and check out a PS book to see how you like it. And if it fits the bill, you can Amazon the newest edition of the same book.

I've owned several books over the years, and found them to be valuable resources to go to when the internet fails me, or I lost power at the house...But a draw back is that after you buy a book...there will be a major new release of the software and the book won't have any references on the latest features...but hey that's life... Good luck in seeking your references.

If you have two computers - try viewing a YouTube video on one. On the second one run LR with a your own photo, trying out what YouTuber is teaching you. You can also do the same with one monitor if you have a monitor with lots of space say a 24" or larger. Like many of the replies everyone learns differently, but I think we call agree that you gotta actually use LR and use it lot to get the most out of it.

Wonderful points there. But I often get worn out but people who whine about: either the cost or the complexity of PS. We all should remember PS is a powerful program and is not meant for those who want simplify or quickness or want cheap. There are plenty of alternatives that are better suited for the them.

Just use the tool that is best for you...

Yup well written software would not have made that mistake. On the other hand do you know how hard it is to write software that will take into account human nature? LOL....

Just a thought - ain't this what capitalism is all about? making a profit/living, changing/adapting to survive. Yes the web is a great source of free info...but how many of us are willing to pay for that info or support those that create and research the info....Believe it or not he content makers have bills, mortgages, too. Yes we all bemoan the loss but are we really willing to put our dollars up front for that info? We would all do well to remember the Web/You Tube/ are businesses. The sad fact fact is, we as a society want lots of stuff but not pay for it.

My best wishes to Chris & Jordan in their future endeavors.

Funny thing about the web and social media - bad things "horror/bad things happening" always gets more attention, then the routine. I've updated several computers with W11 and no issues...but then again I'm a IT professional...my advice is before doing the update get Microsoft's PC Health Checker give it run and it will tell you if your unit is W11 compatible. Good luck....

Just a thought - Everyone here has great ideas...but why not just go out on your own and discover your own hidden places. The tough thing about guide books and getting recommendations is that everyone had read them. Yes they have their place but finding your own hidden places is so much more satisfying...but hey this is just my 2 cents...enjoy your trip.;-)
