I'm come across one negative with my Brother LW2350DW. When it spits out a page, it tends to be curled up a bit on the long sides. This isn't a problem for a few pages,
Yes, I know none of you have trouble with laser printers, but I just thought I'd pass this along, anyway.

Jerry, you better call in a Priest!

[quote=jerryc41]A friend is about 72, and I don't think she's ever had a printer. She uses the library or Staples for any printing. Although she has a laptop, she uses her phone almost exclusively. She asked me for advice about buying a printer.

Jerry, be careful here.Unless color printing is necessary, I’d suggest a Laser Printer for occasional use. Lots here recommend the economical Brother Laser printer. Get the least expensive one.
If she gets a color cartridge printer and prints only sometimes, expect lots of on-site printing calls from her to fix (cartridges) what you recommended. I speak from 14 years of owning a Computer Service Center! Hardly any callback from Brother Lasers I recommended!

You get electrocuted for sure if your truck is grounded and you touch a high voltage wire. You see the birds can perch on them high voltage wires because they are not grounded any where.

Congrats BebuLamar, you got it right. Short circuit from Hi/voltage Wire THROUGH person to Bucket Ground! If Grounded Bucket itself touched Hi/Voltage Wire, expect a BIG Pop somewhere!

And that's a very good idea. I bought a pair of cartridges when I bought the printer.

Remember that there’s a choice when buying new Toner Cartridges. I always buy ‘High Yield’ toner cartridges. Maybe replace them every 1-½ years or more. My cartridges are about $20 for a pair.

Bought a new charger for my ‘C’ and ‘D’ rechargeable batteries. So far in 6 months working great, three recharges so far. Still testing…Bonai charger and EBL 5000 mah ‘C’ btrys. Btry’s expensive but long lasting vs $$$$ multi purchase of Alkalines.

I got a MAHA battery charger probably 10-12 years ago. It charges Eneloops nicely and gives an indication of how much they are charged. Many cheap chargers will charge batteries in series pairs so you need a number of batteries that is evenly divisible by 2. They will stop charging when one of the batteries is fully charged, leaving the other without a full charge. The MAHA charger charges each battery individually. It handles up to 8 simultaneously. Does AA and AAA.

Ditto on the MAHA chargers. 10 years and still works like new. Eneloops the best.

Is anyone else getting snow today? I woke to a light covering, and now it's snowing hard, although they say it will top by 10:00.

Karl Marx was the author of the saying” Religion is the opiate of the masses”. Today, that is no longer the case. Today, it is the cell phone that is the opiate of the masses. It boggles my old mind how these people cannot put down their devices to walk, drive, or eat. It’s is just amazing to me, and I hesitate to see how much worse it can get.

My iPhone, when away from the house, is used for notifying me with 5 security Cams of video and audio, indoor and out, and sensor alerts for garage door open/close; freezer open/close; quick photos, translation duties, FaceTime chats, emergency weather alerts, 'Life360' App for where my Kids are at the moment, remotely open the garage if necessary, a QR Scanner, play games when waiting for Wife shopping/hair/ Dr appointments, and lots of Utilities. Oooops, also make phone calls with it. - P.S.- VA provides an App for using iPhone calls direct to my VA Hearing Aids as well as a Mic for my wife direct to my Hearing Aids. *mostly near deaf, military stuff, don’tcha know 😱

I have a reason for doing this, and that reason will so be revealed.

Do this without looking at anyone else's choices. Pick a random color and a number between 1 - 100, and post it below.

I still have three old Macs and three old Windows computers with old applications on them that open old files for which there are no translators. But I will probably remove the drives and recycle all of them when we move again. I haven't used four of them since 2015.

I still have and use my 2015 iMac because it uses 32-bit ‘InDesign’ App and 32-bit ‘PS’, etc software, which does all I need. My iPad Air 5th gen, M1/256 Gb w/bluetooth ext kb does everything else I need. More mobility for travel, etc. Too expensive to move hundreds of 32-bit software to 64-bit.
