Ha. I remember seeing a cartoon of two little kids talking and one says to the other "I'll sell you my chance to be president for a nickel." I suggest my image falls in the same category ;-)
Yes, at Mandalay Beach in Ventura County, SoCal.
Anyone remember that bit that David Letterman used to do? I'm reminded of that bit as I am getting into photography again. This image was shot from about 200 feet with my Canon SX60HS. I'd love some basic feedback, so what does the community think, is this anything?
I have a similar problem that I don't understand. Often, when viewing older JPEG images Photoshop can't deal with them. My work-around has been to open them in Paint and then re-save as JPEG or .PNG. That was a sure-fire solution with Photoshop Elements, but the re-saved JPEG still won't open in Photoshop CC, which I just got about a week ago. Anyone know what might be going on here?
Great advice from William Rodriguez. I'm not a total novice as I've used SLR and DSLR cameras for a long time, but I've never really been serious about it before. I've joined this group, plus Canon and Nikon users groups and joined my local camera club. I also just ordered a book on Photoshop as I've signed up for the CC services. These are all good ideas that will get things started for you. I'm already learning droves in just a week of study and experimenting.
I just went through the same exercise and decided on the D7200. It arrives tomorrow. Can't wait!
On the recommendation of my local camera club, Ventura County Camera Club, I signed up ($10/mo). The downloads were seemless and with the subscription you get constant updates and tips. Seems to be working out fine! I'm a happy snapper ;-) Dick
Very interesting information. As I'm just getting back into photography with two new cameras (Canon SX60HS and Nikon D3200) I'm already seeing the advantages of Raw over JPEG. Now I understand a little better. Thanks for posting, Dick
Interesting spot. I've been there a couple of times in my life. Good image to remember it by. Thanks.
Hello Everyone, I have been away from photography for quite awhile, but I recently moved to a target rich environment in the Channel Islands Harbor in SoCal, so I am getting back into it. I just bought a new Canon SX 60 HS to replace my 11 year old camera that finally died and so I can ease my way back into it before I mortgage the house ;-) This looks like a great group and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with many of you. In the meantime, I'm posting a couple of old pics and hope to get some feedback. Somebody mentioned eagles, so I've attached my entry and the other one I took in San Francisco Bay some years ago. I'm looking forward seeing you all "around campus." Thanks, Dick Drechsler
