I did it. Pulled the trigger on a Z7. I couldn't pass up the $600 savings, plus $200 savings on the FTZ adapter, plus the free XQD card, plus Payboo. Now I have another decision to make today while KEH has their 10% off Nikon and Canon deal. Do I go with native glass, $658 for the the 24-70 f4 Z mountin EX+ condition, or do I go faster and get the 24-70 2.8 AF-S for $810?

I'd go with the classic Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8G AF-S, which is part of Nikon's "Holy Trinity," because (a) it will no doubt have a higher resale value when you decide to sell, and (b) it will come in handy if you ever decide to abandon the world of mirrorless cameras and move to full-frame FX Nikon cameras.

The uploaded photo has two spots, one off the left antenna of the butterfly and one of the tip of its left wing. Can anyone tell me what caused these and the best way to remove them? I tried using the spot healing tool in PS, but it didn't do a very satisfactory job. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know what caused the spots (dirty lens, mold or fungus on one of the elements, sensor dirt, etc.) but I was able to easily remove them simply using the edit / retouch tool in Apple's Photos on my Macbook Pro. My edit is attached. Not a super "professional" fix, but effective.

I need to improve the ability to shoot in low light situations. (Primarily horse shows under the lights and early morning/evening wildlife shots)
I currently have a Canon 80D and a Canon 70-200 f4 Is ii lens. A Canon 100-400 lens and a Tamron 150-600 lens. I also have the Canon 1.4 and 2.0 extenders.
Looking at acquiring a used Canon 5D Mark iii or a Canon 70-200 f2.8.
Will be “trading” a Canon 70D and the f4 lens and possibly the Tamron.
If you could only do one, which would you upgrade? Camera or lens?

Neither... Buy a monopod instead and save money.

I would like to get some help choosing a ultra wide angle lens that will take filters , I already have a Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 which gives very good images but won't except any filters because of the bulbus front element . Does anyone out there have any suggestions , thanx in advance.

Save some money!

When I bought my Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8G a few years ago, the first thing I looked for was a way to protect the bulbous front element from scratches, dirt and cracks. I found Fotodiox's WonderPana, which provides extra protection to the lens as well as the ability to add filters.

While it looks a little peculiar when attached to the lens, it definitely provides protection you want to the front of your 14-24 lens... plus the option of using other special effects 145mm filters over the lens in addition to the skylight version.

Check out Fotodiox's listing for the WonderPana solution for ultra wide angle lenses, and you may decide not buy a whole new wide angle lens: https://fotodioxpro.com/collections/wonderpana/products/wpcore-nk1424

In late 2015 I was in the same predicament as you: I had a D7100 camera and about 5 Nikkor DX lenses. But I fell in love with the Nikon Df FX camera and its 50mm F/1.8G kit lens and traded-in my old D7100 and DX lenses to buy a Nikkor 70-200 f/4G ED VR AF-S FX lens in order to take maximum advantage of the Df’s larger FX format. To make a long story short, I was so pleased with the results I was getting from my Nikon Df and FX lenses that by late 2019 I had accumulated 41 more FX lenses plus a second Df camera body along with a Nikon D810, which I recently replaced with a D850. If you decide to get the D810 and take advantage of this camera’s capabilities, be prepared to deal with the temptation to spend $$$ upgrading to FX lenses. (Personally, I’d recommend that you consider purchasing a Nikon factory-refurbished D850 instead, but that’s a whole other story...).

I inherited about 10,000 35mm slides from my father, and used a Nikon ES-1 Slide Copier mounted to a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D Micro lens and my D810 to digitize the most "save-worthy" photos... about 1,000. The most difficult part of the project for me was sorting through the slides and finding the keepers. Once I started rolling with the dupes, it took me about 2 or 3 minutes per photo to get the shot I wanted. The quality of the duplicated digital photos for the mostpart was quite good, and overall, this three-month sorting & duplicating project was a lot of fun. See attached photo of me sleeping on my father's stomach in April 1951, shot by my mother. Nikon's web site provides advice how best to use their ES-1 Slide Copier.

I don't know if a Nikon Series E lens can be mounted onto a Panasonic camera, but if you're talking about the Nikon f/1.8 SERIES E 50mm AI-S Pancake manual lens manufactured between 1981 to 1985, it's an amazing lens.
