I believe you are asking for comments on how to work this site. Assuming this is true, my input for working this site is the following:

Move to the left (maybe 10 feet) of the position this picture was taken and maybe back a little to keep the same items in the frame.

The intent is to have exposed more of the sides of the near bails and placed a little ”space” between the first set of “near” bails and the second set of “distant” bails.

In doing this make sure not lose the building in the distance which means you may have to move the camera down some so the distant building and some sky can be seen under the tree branches on the tree on the left side.

When all this “moving around” is done, take care such that the tree in the distance center should still have some “space” between it and the large tree on the near left.

I grew-up in NM and this captures the simple, peaceful, quiet of the SW. Great composition and technical capture. Thank you for posting.

My opinion is:

The colors are good. The focus is good. I like the picture and the light reflection on the wall between the light house and the house.

The composition needs work. I would try to move to a point where the red building roof did not block part of the fence, possibly to the right - if that can be done without falling off a cliff.

I would photoshop out the white drain pipe/board walk (?) on the left and the white box lower right center. I would also experment in lighting up the bush area in the lower right quadrant.

This and approx. $5 will probably get you a Starbuck coffee.

Thanks for sharing

OK, it seems that the General Chit Chat forum has just become a minefield of far left and far right leaning people bashing each other. I'd love to see this moved to a section called "bash your neighbor's ideas" and then I can not subscribe to it and see all the hate filled topics.... then General Chit chat could go back to jokes, random thoughts, things that don't incite angry outbursts where one person wants to find out where the other person lives so they can beat the crap out of them because they think the poster is a war monger....

Just a thought. (wishful thinking, I know it will never go back)

I think it is a joke -- of course I could be wrong and in that case it really did happen to someone (but not me).

My apologies to those that perceived that I was trying to make it seem that it happened to me.

Just enjoy the joke.

Yesterday, I wore my Vietnam Veterans cap when I went to Wal-Mart. There was nothing in particular that I needed at the world's largest retailer; but, since I retired, trips to Wally World to look at the "Walmartians" is always good for some comic release. Besides I always feel pretty normal after seeing some of the people that frequent this establishment.

But, I digress... enough of my psychological fixations. While standing in line to check out, the guy in front of me, probably in his early thirties, asked, "Are you a Vietnam Vet?"

"No," I replied.

"Then why are you wearing that cap?"

"Because I couldn't find the one from the War of 1812." I thought this was a snappy retort.

"The War of 1812, huh?" the "Walmartian" queried, "When was that?"

God forgive me, but I couldn't pass up such an opportunity. "1936," I answered, as straight-faced as possible.

He pondered my response for a moment and then asked, "Why do they call it the War of 1812 if it was in 1936?"

"It was a Black Operation. No one is supposed to know about it." This was beginning to be way too much fun!

"Dude! Really?" he exclaimed. "How did you get to do something that COOOOL?"

I glanced furtively around me for effect, leaned toward the guy, and in a low voice said. "I'm not sure. I was the only Caucasian on the mission."

"Dude," he was really getting excited about what he was hearing, "that is seriously awesome! But, didn't you kind of stand out?"

"Not really. The other guys were all wearing white camouflage."

The moron nodded knowingly.

"Listen man," I said in a very serious tone, "You can't tell anyone about this. It's still 'top secret' and I shouldn't have said anything."

"Oh yeah?" he gave me that, 'don't threaten me look.' "Like, what's gonna happen if I do?"

With a really hard look I said, "You have a family don't you? We wouldn't want anything to happen to them, would we?"

The guy gulped, left his basket where it was and fled through the door. By this time the lady behind me was about to have a heart attack, she was laughing so hard. I just grinned at her.

After checking out and going to the parking lot I saw the Dimwit leaning in a car window talking to a young woman. Upon catching sight of me he started pointing excitedly in my direction.

Giving him another 'deadly' serious look, I made the 'I see you' gesture. He turned kind of pale, jumped into the car and sped out of the parking lot in a flurry of dust.

What a great time I had! Tomorrow I'm going back with my Homeland Security cap. Then the next day I will go to the DMV so I can wear a Border Patrol hat, and see how long it takes to empty out the place. Whoever said retirement is boring just needs the right kind of cap!

Cropping some off the top and left may make the composition better in that the birds may seem to be landing. I like the color. If you decide to lighten the bird, I would do it in small incremental steps. The total photograph may be could use some slight lighting. I think the limb/stick in the feathers of the bird gives the photograph some additional depth. I like the blur of the wing in that it provides some motion.

It may be a wall hanger now depending on the size and the normal viewing distance you determine.

It would seem to me the English have the right to ban what they wish.

What concern it is to us in the USA?

I spent a lot of my time in the military to preserve our freedoms includiing the right to free speech.

I see there are a lot of "sick puppies" out there that are using that right to instigate hate.

It is a sad thing to see.
