No post edits just used a polarizer filter. I love the shot but wonder what others think.

I think it is a beautiful use of colour and shapes with a wonderful sky to back it up.
About my only negative comment would be on the composition with the strongest element right in the middle of the photo.
Maybe if you zoomed back little but shifted the camera so that the bottom left corner was still the bottom left corner it would aleviate this.
Another approach could be to go in even closer for a square crop with 3 evenly spaced strong elements (magic away the little white box in the bottom right of that image, turn it to green grass)

I questioned that little white box too. Thank you for your feedback and will try that out and keep your advice in mind for future shots.

I think it's a very nice capture. The Nubble light, to me, is the most photogenic of all our lights, and in good light with the right choices, a photographer can walk away happy. You captured great detail and those beautiful primary colors even in the shadows and those bright whites, which is a challenge on a sunny day like you had. There's other compositions, sure, but this ones pretty nice.

When photographing Nubble, I have cloned out some of those manhole- like things on the right but the white brick box is sort on interesting and had a nice square shape that seems to serve a purpose. You could try taking it out and see if you like it better that way. The main thing that worries me at Nubble are the light poles to its left, but you effectively dealt with them by leaving them out. I might be tempted to brighten the light/ color on those bushes on the right experimentally just to see what it looked like that way. But that's all minor stuff.

Print it. Frame it. It's a nice one.

Beautiful shot! I would make no changes to this one but if given another chance I would like to see more of the stones and some water. Give it some space to show more of the setting especially water.

Beautiful crisp clear shot. Personally I would have cropped it much nearer the square to eliminate he bushes on the left but its not far of perfect as it is so your choice.
The white box I find quite interesting makes the eye wander a little looking for detail.

Nicely done. Your focus and exposure are excellent and the little white box does not bother me. I do agree with the previous poster who suggested a square cropping.

My opinion is:

The colors are good. The focus is good. I like the picture and the light reflection on the wall between the light house and the house.

The composition needs work. I would try to move to a point where the red building roof did not block part of the fence, possibly to the right - if that can be done without falling off a cliff.

I would photoshop out the white drain pipe/board walk (?) on the left and the white box lower right center. I would also experment in lighting up the bush area in the lower right quadrant.

This and approx. $5 will probably get you a Starbuck coffee.

Thanks for sharing

Your exposure and focus are excellent.

Google "Cape Nedick lighthouse" > images and you'll see a great variety of perspectives and possible compositions.

Gorgeous colors and proportions and a lovely sky. No wonder your eye was attracted!

Given your camera position and focal length used, you moved the main subject matter about as far to left as you could leaving good space to the right of the lighthouse. It's about as good, composition-wise, as you could manage from where you stood. This is a good example of a scene that could be "worked" to permit capture of a variety of perspectives and different compositions ( including the possible crop to square that has been mentioned, serendipitously,/ironically, by "Lighthouse".

The vacationer often forgets the great range of image options that are provided by the range of zoom of even a pocket P&S camera, (not to mention a razzle-dazzle DSLR) combined with different camera positions. And after you've captured all the possible compositions you can, then back off and capture some longer distance views that may permit some creative cropping that you hadn't thought of until later.

But, as is, it's a "nice shot".

Dave

This is a very strong image! love the massive contrast in colors. It really pops out at you. There are a few small distractions mentioned that could easily be cloned out. For sure needs to be on a wall!
