Check out the Nikon Z50 - it's an amazing bargain and punches well above it's weight class.

...another vote for the Z50 as a starter. It's phenomenal.

They *do* make a f2.8 24-70 Z lens, but I for one won't bother...I *love* the f4 version. And I have the Nikon grip...it's solid like it should be...

Got lucky yesterday and got a good shot of a female (on the left) and male Red-Bellied Woodpecker in one shot. Kensington Metropark outside of Detroit.

Zowie brother! I love luck more than *anything*...especially when one has the skills to take advantage of it!

I am sorry to rain on your parade, but this is not the most famous photograph ever taken. Equally famous photograph titled Flag Over Reichstag was taken by Russian photographer Yevgeni Khaldei with Leica III camera in Berlin on May 8, 1945 and the next day Germany capitulated.

I think there are many, depending on genre, but for iconic war photos, Iwo is definitely an American ideal. From *my* war, the Napalm Girl by Nick Ut:

No price list, setting your prices based on your customer's wealth - ethical? Just a con game.

With respect, I've made my living interacting with people, contracting, doing jobs. Pricing a job has many ramifications, least of which is actually *doing* said job. You have all aspects of logistics as operant factors (and a big part is location), in addition to the knowhow. I live maybe 15 miles from the ocean. The closer I get, the more I charge. <shrug>

I know these are not done with a 720nm filter, but what are you using? I've been thinking of changing a second camera to something other than 720. Gorgeous shots

I went to a 590, had my old D300 done, then had an attack and bought a Sony A7 cuz I wanted the FF and had *it* done in 590. 590 is huge color. Full spectrum allows you to pretty much do any usable nm, but you do have to use filters...funny thing tho, I discovered I can use a filter on
any of my converted cameras, as long as it's "darker". So I've tried that and had OK results, but, really, if I want 720 it's best to go to *that* camera!

Learned long ago to take a shot holding up fingers with how many to stitch to simplify finding them in Lightroom.

Great idea...I usually hold up my hand and then figure it out but the number of fingers I think I will borrow.

If I read your post correctly, it sounds like the bride was upset because a number of images of her were out of focus. And the groom was in focus. Kind of says it all.

I recently remarried, and when we got our proofs back from the professional photographer, most of the outdoor images were over exposed. I asked her what that was all about, and she said “oh, I’ve just started shooting images with an ethereal effect.”

Sometimes wedding photographers need to leave some of their creative photography skills at home.

Totally agree. I've done a couple, both for friends, one for a pittance and the other for real money. I just shot the things, with a second shooter who knew what was up for weddings. And, see, I was equiped for low light, and had a good feel for both venues, which allowed me to go sans flash (which I abhor). It sounds like the OP got the horse and cart mixed up. It's OK to say you've got a style and try to bring it to the ballgame, but when the style is *forced* because of gear shortcomings, well, then you've got your teet firmly in the wringer. Learn from this, spend some bux and get what you need so when something pops up you can handle the job and NOT worry about what you're reduced to shooting with.
