Stunning ! I have one just about to open. I just love them.
I’ve never seen them in wax before. Do you water it?

I don't need to water it. This is the first time I've bought them this way. The website is one I use for many plants and flowers for outside. They coat the bulb in wax once it has gone dormant. It stores all the nutrients it needs for the next bloom, so coating it doesnt hinder it's ability to bloom again. However, the drawback is that it will only bloom once this way (and they don't make that known when you purchase). I emailed to ask if I could remove the wax, and they said that I'm welcome to try, but they have not seen that work. If I can get the wax off, I can re-plant them and they may bloom again next year.

I still like them, but I'll get bulbs I can plant next time.

Google Making Panorama images using Lightroom CC. I usually do mine in Photoshop using the "Photomerge" feature. I'm sure you know this but in case you don't. Make sure you have about a 25% overlap in the images you are taking to make your Pano.

Thanks. I can do pano's in LRCC, I just wanted to be able to quickly do it in the LR iPhone app. I dont see that option in the app.

I bought three of these waxed Amaryllis bulbs from Breck's (online) and this is the only one to bloom so far. The other two should pop in the next week or so.

Take with the Lightroom app (HDR setting) on my iPhoneX.

I am so fortunate to live where I do. Expansive Eastward views, and now, with all the leaves gone, I can see the Hudson River from my house. We are privy to this more often than we should be. No two are ever the same, and we all marvel at how beautiful sunrises can be every time we see these. You cannot find these colors anywhere else in nature, not even in those really big Crayon boxes :-)

These are some shots I got this morning at sunrise. All were taken using my iPhoneX. I utilized the Autostitch app to create the pano. Its not a great app, you can see the issues it has when stitching photos together. The others were created with the Lightroom app, and HDR setting. If there is a way to stitch panos in the LR app, I have yet to figure out how.

I think the future is in the Mr. Fusion fuel technology they showed us at the end of "Back to the Future."

Well, based on this information, I guess we should abandon all attempts at engineering an alternative fuel for humans to maintain our lifestyles.

Are electric cars the answer to everything? Of course not! If we continue to burn fossil fuels, we will continue pollution, and eventually, will run out of those fuels. Probably not soon, but it will happen.

As new technology emerges, of course it comes with some setbacks (for lack of a better word), but does that mean we should stop trying to improve upon existing technology? I would certainly love to cut down on emissions as much as possible. I realize that I produce a whole lot of pollution myself (I drive a gas-powered vehicle), but I try to do as little driving as possible when I can.

I don't think that because the current electrical grid couldn't handle the added electrical vehicle charging requirements means that electric cars are bad and I shouldn't get one.

I assume your post was to jump-start a conversation. :-)

It depends somewhat on you. If you are very critical, the 18-300 Sigma or 18-400 Tamron might not be good enough. I find my Sigma on the camera most of the time, and I use it more at the high end than on the wide side. Here is an example of a shot taken in medium light (with flash) at 300mm with the Sigma 18-300. The shot and a blow up. The detail is "plenty good" for me.

The Sigma 18-300 was my favorite lens when I used my D3200. I have since moved on to the D750, and have the Nikon 28-300.

I found the Sigma to be affordable, and definitely covered everything I needed it to (landscape and my kids' sports). Its a great lens!

I've used these in the past, and they work really well. I cannot speak to their efficacy on a metal print, but this is paint in pen form. I would suggest practicing before you actually sign the print. The paint can "blob" out of the end sometimes.

External drives will definitely fail, its just a matter of when. Better made drives will last longer, but will still fail at some point. I had 2 drives fail on me recently, completely coincidental. One was for my xbox, but I'd been using it for over 6 years. The other was a backup of my hard drive, though I also have Carbonite, so I am not going to replace that one. The actual hard drive in the computer is fine and healthy.

While I have physical backups of my photos (hard drive, plus 2 external drives), I also have the Carbonite subscription. Overkill? Yep, probably, but the external drives are in a small, fireproof safe. So, God forbid something ever happen and we need to exit the house quickly, I can grab that and know my photos are safe. Of the people I know who have experienced a catastrophe, photos are the one thing they wish they could have saved.

Oh, and as inexpensive as drives are now, there really is no reason not to have one at the ready.

Are you hearing the noise when its mounted on a tripod? many maufacturers suggest turning VR off when mounted to a tripod, because the VR is trying to steady an already steady shot.

Of course, if you're hearing it while handholding, then this doesnt matter. I thought I'd bring this up, because i didnt see this information in your post.

I agree with everyone else though. You should definitely return it if the noise doesnt go away.
