I bought three of these waxed Amaryllis bulbs from Breck's (online) and this is the only one to bloom so far. The other two should pop in the next week or so.
Take with the Lightroom app (HDR setting) on my iPhoneX.
Very nice. They certainly are red, aren’t they? Looks like the iPhone X handled the red well. Red seems to be a difficult color.
Beautiful, mine bloom every year, same color as these.
It certainly did handle the red well!
Stunning ! I have one just about to open. I just love them.
I’ve never seen them in wax before. Do you water it?

I don't need to water it. This is the first time I've bought them this way. The website is one I use for many plants and flowers for outside. They coat the bulb in wax once it has gone dormant. It stores all the nutrients it needs for the next bloom, so coating it doesnt hinder it's ability to bloom again. However, the drawback is that it will only bloom once this way (and they don't make that known when you purchase). I emailed to ask if I could remove the wax, and they said that I'm welcome to try, but they have not seen that work. If I can get the wax off, I can re-plant them and they may bloom again next year.
I still like them, but I'll get bulbs I can plant next time.
Gorgeous blossoms and image!
