Well they didn't imply anything other than what was stated. No one said "Internet Declares Sony the Winner" that other than Hogan and you know he is a Nikon Fanboy.

Sony has overtaken Canon and Nikon to claim the top slot for full-frame camera market share in Japan That is tantamount to declaring a winner.
If you have read Hogan over the past several years and his criticisms of Nikon you should find it hard to call him a fanboy. In any case a tiny sample of the entire Japanese market can hardly be called a factual representation.
Personally I have found DPR over the past year to have begun looking like a Sony "fanboy" with less positive coverage of both Canon and Nikon than before.
Could it be Sony gives their dealers a better profit margin?

I've been searching the internet for information on keeping camera movement at a minimum doing landscapes with a 300mm to 400mm lens. I have a great Gitzo tripod and when I use my 300mm Nikon 2.8 I notice looking through the view finder there is movement especially when the wind is blowing. I have a remote shutter release and I put a small sandbag on top of the lens and I have a weight hanging from the center column. What other things can I do to help keep movement down?

You might be dealing with heat waves/air movement

"Sony has overtaken Canon and Nikon to claim the top slot for full-frame camera market share in Japan, according to BCN Ranking. Sony showed growth in the overall full-frame, APS-C and fixed-lens digital camera categories from November 2018 to October 2019, as well.

Ultimately, Sony saw its total full-frame camera market share in Japan increase from 31.6% to 38%, while Canon was bumped down to second place at 36% market share compared to last year's 37.8%. Nikon came in at 24% of the full-frame market, a decrease from last year's 29.1%."

Copied from DPR, their link is easy to find if you want to read the entire article.

What does this mean for existing camera owners...probably very little...just trivia.

Not so fast;
From the Nikon Rumors web site; What many websites forgot to mention is that this data is only from the Japanese market (not worldwide) and is collected only from a fraction of the retailers in Japan that sell photo equipment. The report is also for only full-frame cameras and As usual, Thom Hogan has a much better and deeper explanation/analysis of the report in his article "Internet Declares Sony the Winner"

Just curious, if you had a large budget, would upgrade to a full frame or buy one?

I would go full frame for a couple of reasons. First, it's how I'm built. If I have the crop I'll always wonder if I could do better with a full frame. With a full frame the reverse wouldn't apply. From a practical standpoint , within a brand the better glass has always been made for the full frame cameras. When you are using the best, there is no equivocating. If the end result isn't good, there is only one place to put the blame.

I appreciate that feedback. My instructor says I need a full frame because that is the first question the realtors in thus area ask, "do you have a full frame camera?" He directed me to this article: https://www.photoworkout.com/best-cameras-real-estate-photography/
I guess the realtors jumped on that bandwagon too. I agree with you. I need more classes and it will be me, not my camera that takes better photos. You have motivated me. I m going to do a survey of the local realtors myself to see if they care more about the equipment used by the photographer, or more about the results driving sales from the images captured.

For what it's worth, I defy, just about anyone, to look at an 8X10 or a web image, to identify whether the sensor used was crop or full frame. That includes realtors.

Is anyone still using the D610 or recently purchased one in 2019?
What do you like about it?
I have read mostly great reviews, but some not so great reviews about the video capabilities, which I don't care about. I am switching to a full frame for real estate and abandoned property photography. Looking at used equipment.

Thanks

The D610 is still a good full frame camera even by today's standards. Sure, you can get a smaller Nikon Z6 full frame mirrorless at more than twice the price, but your photo's wont be that much better.

Very true, The newer cameras have better auto focus and more advanced electronics but for general photography use, there just isn't a lot of difference between older full frame 24MP to new full frame 24MP when it comes down to the final image output.

50,000 shutter clicks is about one third of the shutter life on that camera. Furthermore, you did not say where you are buying the camera. I hope not 42nd Street Photo. Because, they have a reputation of selling gray market cameras. Which you don't want. Also, be aware that the D610 is a discontinued camera. And Nikon has no intentions of extending the D600 series cameras anytime soon. Or never? However, it has been a great entry-level full frame camera, and quite popular as well. I have met two photographers who still own the D600, the predecessor to the D610. Good luck.

Please, most older cameras are discontinued. As the OP is looking for a used one what bearing does that have either way or whether or not Nikon will continue the series?
The fact that some D600s had an oil issue (mine doesn't) also has zero bearing on the D610 as that camera was a 'fixed' replacement for the D600 and had/has no oil spot issues

No sorry, never noticed a "tip jar". So I went to the site to look for it. In the past I only scrolled down far enough to view the cameras without realizing there was anything else. I found the tip jar down past the cameras and found other things that I wasn't aware of. I placed my first tip in the jar for the web cameras.

ED, All though I only pointed the Tip Jar out as a way to illustrate how the cameras came about, on behalf of the "Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec RR", thank you for your donation.

Good video but I noticed there were a lot of bullet holes in that Railroad Crossing sign near the end.

I like to view the three live webcams of the rail yard on their website. There was a while a few months ago when the cameras weren't working. They got two of cameras working but the Depot camera is still out of order. I hope they get it up and running before the next season comes around. I think that is the most interesting camera.

I'm sure those bullet holes (they look like a shotgun blast)were why the producer used that shot after all they chose to emphasize wild west and dangerous. Neither of which is based on fact. The cameras have been out in the elements 24/7 365 and are past their sell by date. They were payed for by donations and installed/maintained by volunteers. They will be updated the same way. If you've watched them you should have noticed a "Tip jar" on the page you were on.

I did the upgrade to adobe 2020 the other day (photoshop 2020), now my 2020 upgrade is incredibly slow - example: white balance - switching from "as shot" to "auto" takes 30 to 60 seconds same with all other changes ... only happened after the upgrade. any ideas?

I have noticed that also. The slowdown per function isn't that much but it adds up.
