Deep in the Black Hills of S. Dakota, North/West of Rapid City, there's the little town Rockford, Pop. 8. Town had a small 1 room house that served as the Rockford Mall, a small one room school house and the Moonshine Gulch Saloon. Shame it was closed would have loved to see the inside.

This is SOOC and I haven't had time to work on it, so have at it. Dig down deep into your souls and pull out all the creative artistic knowledge that lies within.

Feel free to download this photo to your computer and then edit it any way you want to. Composites, textures, filters, conversions, anything you think will make improve the photo. Photo needed some cropping, some getting rid of distracting elements, and seemed to call for an old-fashioned black and white look.

This one screamed Black & White. Because I knew I would go to a Black and White I could brighten and darken many areas of the photo without worrying about the color. Before my B&W conversion it looked awful. So I brought out the signage Merry Christmas and Saloon under the eve. I copied just the main overhead sign and worked on strengthening it on a separate layer. Next removed the leaning stuff on the right side then replaced the sky. Now converted to B&W. Skewed the picture to look like the picture was more centered. Decided it was a bit too harsh so added a 8% orange fill layer. Some other changes were made too but you might be able to find them on your own.
Maybe changed the picture too much, will see.

Very nice image to work with. I replaced the sky, removed the pole leaning up against the building, and added some personality.

I don't know whose image you are referring to, but it could be pointed out that you needn't submit an image to comment.

This was such a fun image to work with. I could have gone in several different directions and even considered going B&W but then I remembered I had the perfect composite for it. Thanks for letting us work on it.

Added some fog. Edited the Moonshine Gulch Saloon sign. Applied some minor enhancements.

WOW! Some great edits here. People have stepped up their game.
Recognizing SpyderJan for his work taking out the pole leaning against the building.πŸ‘
Recognizing Kenievans for finding the donkeys and cart. So appropriate for the Saloon. πŸ‘
Recognizing Gaylord's edit. You say you added fog. To me it looks like snow is starting to come down. Love it! πŸ‘
Recognizing Rich for finding the appropriate dirt for the road. I too tried to find a dirt road and failed. The horse and drunk 😊on the side of the Saloon Perfect. πŸ‘

Let's see what else will be showing up, it's only Monday. Congratulations everyone.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Very nice Rich. I tried to fix the road, but settled on cropping it out.

A nice small slice of Americana; I thought the Saloon would look good at dusk.
