I have heard that Nikon lenses can be used on any of the Nikon cameras, but I'd like your opinions. I have the opportunity to buy a Nikon F6 film camera, and so I was wondering if the lenses I now use on my Nikon D7100 will also work on the F6.Thanks for your help.
I had cataract surgery about 15 years ago: simple, painless process and corrected my vision but I still wear glasses. I'd recommend the operation now before your vision gets worse
I'd like to see more of your pictures. My wife and I used to make a yearly trip to Galena and, while she shopped, I would wander around town and up on the bluff taking pictures of all the old homes, etc. But I never saw this old beauty; where was it realative to the town?
I loved each one, especially the black and white; excellent work!
I was in the Army at Fort Lewis in the late 40s snd used to wake up in the morning and look out our barracks at Mt. Rainier: what a gorgeous sight!
Thank you very much for your very instructive reply. I think Mr Pavich was correct in suggesting I read the instruction manual before posing naive questions on UHH. Also, my 1 year of German in college didn't help much, but thanks again for your efforts.
Though I don't use Photoshop to process my pictures, I've become amazed at how many Hogs move ever onward buying the next and newest model of camera, thinking, as I used to, that a newer camera will make me a better photographer. So, I too am going back to film, to try once again to try a simpler way to make pictures.
I just purchased a Leica M7 film camera and I've installed the batteries and attached a lense but how do I know it's "on?" It's unlike most/all of the modern cameras that I've used. Thanks, and yes I know it's a dumb and foolish question so please don't scold me.
But if photography matters most (that is,the art and practice of, the technique of photography) then why do photographers keep up-grading their equipment? Because, as I used to rather uncomsciously think, "if I buy this new model/camera, I will become a better photographer," and that is not true. "This new camera will so automate my picture-taking that I will become the Ansel Adams of the 21st century! No sweat; just buy this new DSLR or this new mirrorless. Why take lessons? What's creativity got to do with anything? Bah, humbug!"
Amazing in that perhaps that we'll all be returning to the dark ages, i.e., film. Leica cameras are still around and selling, as well as other makes. Sometimes one gets tired of the rat race: buying the newest DSLR and enjoying it for a year or two but then yielding to the siren call to buy the next iteration with better "stuff", and so on ad infinitum. I admit to buying the Nikon F2, then F3, then F4, and finally the F5 until giving up the rat race. And, I see many of the UHHers following suit: how many cameras are enough? Gotta have the newest one! I know, the consumer is all important today, supplying some 40% of our GNP. But where do we go from here?
Mr. Pavich,
We've "talked" before via UHH. I recently Purchased a Leica M7 becauuse I too want to go back to film, at least in addition to digital. Several questions: where do you buy your film? and if you had it developed elsewhere (I think I recall you develop film yourself), where would you send it?
Thank you for your help.

My dealings with BandH thus far have been superb and I was really saddened to read the article claiming discrimination against Hispanics. Since I am half Jewish I think most Jews have been liberals fighting for the downtrodden so it is discouraging to read of BandH's alleged actions. I recall that BandH closes for the Sabbath on Friday until sometime Saturday afternoon or evening, but I guess their prayers have little to do with their Hispanic workers.
What is the name of the Affinity website? I tried Affinity.com with no luck. Thanks.
I like the top photo best, for its darks and lights. The only thing is old photo rules say you should divide your photo into thirds and yours is divided into halfs. I don't know who's correct, but I still like your photo!
