[quote=clickety]It’s an interesting photo. But it’s not a crawler.[/quote

I. called it a "crawler" because it has tracks and not wheels, even though they can just barely be seen because of the weeds. The one tire is just leaning up against the tracks.

Came across this old IH crawler tractor in Livingston, Texas where we are staying for the week before heading out.
The owner was a little hesitant at first and kind of suspicious why I wanted to take some photos of his old tractor, that and the usual caution of the Wuhan flu. Enjoy and let me know any thoughts you might have.

I'm strictly an Adobe fan, no other plug-in's.

Just loaded Big Sur on my Macbook Air. The whole operation went smoothly, everything works without a hitch. My only concern was my ancient HP D110 printer. It was not listed in my printer list, totally gone! Panic (sort of). Found out the USB cable was not plugged in completely. All is great! Just my experience.

I have done this in the past, but not very often. I need simple, step by step instructions on how to move my images from my camera card to a new folder on my external hard drive. As I said, I've done it in the past, but not very often. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Found these along a highway in East Texas. It seemed as if they were some good 'ole boys looking out over the highway and daydreaming of the old days. Enjoy!

Lately, I've become fascinated with Cajun culture, language, music, and especially the food! I came across Amazing Grace sung in Cajun French. I found it to be utterly beautiful and the videos fit it to a tee. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Someone was asking about a "cold foot for a hot-shoe" to mount a laser to for pointing at stars. If you look on Amazon you will find plenty of options. I've built a wireframe for shooting stars. Using advanced engineering techniques and locally sourced materials (I slammed it together from what I had laying around)for the most part I was able to manufacture it with no cost except for the hot-shoe adapter, I got two (as soon as they arrive) for about six bucks.

I want to thank everybody for their comments and criticisms, its how we learn and expand our horizons.
The final "product" is dependent on the underlying image. If at all possible it is best to work with an image that has well-defined areas. It's rather difficult at times to have colors that are well saturated. In the end it really comes down to the perception and interpretation of the artist. Yep, I look at photography as art, and I really don't want to get into a lengthy discussion. "Technique changes, but art remains the same" I believe that is a quote from Claude Monet, but I won't put my paycheck on it. There was a Facebook page featuring the work of various individuals, but FB thought it was a scam and took it down. It was a real shame because we were swapping thoughts and ideas and showing what we were doing.
I have decided to kind of show the evolution of a simple colorization. The young lady is Della Ferrell and appeared in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. The image came from the Pikes Peak Libray in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The first one is the original after I ran it through Photoshop to clean it up, sharpening and trying to adjust the contrast, etc. The second is what it looks like while working on it, showing the various color masks used and the final one is the final product. I hope this kind of gives an insight to the process. O course the more complex the image the longer it can take. Trust me there is a lot of going back and forth trying to choose the right colors. Yes, it is possible to bring the finished image into Photoshop (or your favorite program) to make further adjustments and fine-tuning, at the present time I have chosen not to that. Enjoy and let me know what you think. As I look at the final image, I see where I missed some of her hair just above the left shoulder. It's easy to do that.

The bikers were shot in 1941. I thought I dated it. My Grand parents live at the end of Holland St, right accross from the grade school. Glad you liked the conversions,

while back, somebody had mentioned a colorization program called "Codijy'. Well, I went in search of it, and it does a great job. You have to play around with it, nothing automatic, well documented and support is great! So, I thought I would post a few examples of what is possible. Let me know what you think of my efforts. The one family is of me and my family taken in the late 60s and scanned. The watch repairman is a composite put together on Photoshop. In my original postings, I have tried to give the original photographer credit when possible. The only photo that is mine in its entirety is Dr. Dog. I shot it in Cripple Creek, Colorado in the mid to late '80s. Enjoy and comments are always welcome, providing I can get them uploaded. As a side comment, this is not something for a "type A personality"!!

For those of you in Rio Linda, this is what a coloraimerer looks like:

This may or may not be the appropriate forum if not, move it to where it needs to be. I've been debating between a macro lens and a colorimitor. The colorimeter won the debate and Monday I ordered it through B & H Photo based on all the positive comments I've read here. I was not disappointed. It was set to arrive on 7/3 via FedEx. It was here on schedule, my only concern was FedEx as some drivers have a hard time finding us. But this driver was friendly, knowledgeable, etc. In the future, I will not hesitate to order from B & H.

So far it seems to be working well, no problems downloading the software and registering the device.

I know that this will garner a lot of comments, both negative (a lot) and positive ( maybe not so much), and may even get sent to the attic, who knows.

If you are into Podcasts may I suggest "Newt's World" and his podcast of 31 May 2020, "How New York Failed its Citizens".

Just something to think about. I await your comments.

For a really interesting story about using electrolysis, read the story about the restoration (somewhat) of the Monitor. We visited it several years ago, and it's quite a process, talk about a rust bucket!!
