A different version of Amazing Grace

Lately, I've become fascinated with Cajun culture, language, music, and especially the food! I came across Amazing Grace sung in Cajun French. I found it to be utterly beautiful and the videos fit it to a tee. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

That is beautiful. This is the one I've listened to several times.

That was beautiful. To me, French is the most beautiful sounding language of those I've heard.

This is very nice. I like Cajun music also but more in the classic Cleoma and Joe Falcon style.

Thanks for the link, twas appreciated. Brought back memories of my youth (many moons ago 😀). Sounds similar to the lullabies I heard when a toddler. My Grandmere was of Acadien blood (the true source of your Cajuns) whom would speak and sing with very similar words and accents as in this song. It’s interesting that although this is French it still was/is somewhat different in some aspects to that spoken in other areas of the world. When Grandma spoke in her native language (Acadien) a lot of the French people who talked to her sometimes would have trouble understanding her (mainly the Quebecois in our area). When I was young I was told she spoke Parisian French but I soon realized as I began studying our family heritage that it was not. She was actually speaking for the most part Acadien French. She was a proud, stubborn, battle axe female Acadien lady (but totally lovable) whom ruled her home and us Grandkids with a iron hand (gently of course) So again thanks for the video and the refreshing of memories of a very special lady in my life.

Very nice, although I do not speak or understand French.

Here's the Amazing Grace in a way few have perhaps heard before sang by the "Blind Boys of Alabama". They are older blind gentlemen with amazing tones and harmony.

I truly believe that should you listen to them, you will enjoy it. It is very unique and I don't want to spoil it for you.
