I've had the same CF & SD cards for years. They are smaller ones - up to 4g - which I rotate constantly between my Nikon D200 & D300s, and the SD also works on my Canon Elf point and shoot. I always reformat the cards in the camera. Lately I seem to be missing images. Is this a sign I need to ditch some or all of them and start again?

You might check and see if they have a lifetime warranty. Some of the better card brands do.

So Bruce if you're carrying a gun in the dark and trying to guess where the intruder is, why not also carry a flashlight because if you miss your shot you've given away your location (what do they call it - muzzle flash?) and made yourself vulnerable. Am I making sense?

Let's see. If you hear an intruder and it is dark, then you should take a flashlight, when should you turn on the flashlight? The instant you turn it on you have given away your location. When you fire a shot, both you and the intruder are going to be blinded by the muzzle flash unless you close your eyes just as you pull the trigger even if the flashlight is turned on. The intruder won't know when to shut his/her eyes and will have temporary blindness.

So the question then is, "When do you turn on the flashlight?"

So, most situations where someone tries or breaks into a home happen at night. If it is dark and you have good eyesight, you still aren't going to see. You will have to use some of your other senses (hearing) to know the intruders location. That blind person is just as qualified, or more qualified in that situation since they rely on their ears much more than a sighted person.
They could get the general direction as well as any of us can in the dark.

yes, did try with the tripod but you know if you watch them they sometimes hover at various places and you've got to move the camera to focus on them, so I prop my elbows on the top of the open window for stability... which isn't always the greatest, but at least in this shot you can see feathers and his eyeball!!! I do believe he/she is a young one, they appear less fearful. This evening I stood right next to the feeder; my face probably less than 2 feet from the feeder, and he came and took his time drinking. That was neat.

Looks like they need to be dug up and the bulbs separated.
Seems you have to do that when they are clustered too close.

This was sent to me today and I thought it was too good not to pass on.

On their wedding night, the young bride approached her new husband and asked fFor £20.00 for their first lovemaking encounter.
In his highly aroused state, her husband readily agreed.

This scenario was repeated each time they made love, for more than 40 years, with him thinking that it was a cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that she needed.

Arriving home around noon one day, she was surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state.

During the next few minutes, he explained that his employer was going through a process of corporate downsizing, and he had been let go.
It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find another position that paid anywhere near what he'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined.

Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which showed more than forty years of steady deposits and interest totalling nearly £1 million. Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued by the bank which were worth over £2 million, and informed him that they were one of the largest depositors in the bank.

She explained that for more than three decades she had 'charged' him for sex, these holdings had multiplied and these were the results of her savings and investments.

Faced with evidence of cash and investments worth over £3 million, her husband was so astounded he could barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out,
'If I'd had any idea what you were doing,
I would have given you all my business!'

That's when she shot him.

You know, sometimes, men just don't know when

8. Since 1968 over 1 million americans have been killed with gun
9. The US firearm murder rate is 19.5% higher than the next 22 most high income populous countries , when combined the 23 countries show 80% of these murders are in the USA.

11. You cant legally buy in a Supermarket more than 6 packets of Sudafed tablets or a Chocolate Kinder egg or some french cheeses etc but! you can go to Walmarts and buy an AR-57 plus 100 bullet magazines. the weapon that has been used in the last 4 mass killings.

Since gun massacres in Uk,Japan and Autrailia gun laws have been tightened up and the results have shown a huge decrease in gun crime..

Point to ponder: If everyone in the cinema had been armed and began shooting in the half light.Hmm

Please feel free to dispute these facts as given, I am only the conveyer.

I know why most citizens would want to protect themselves.
Where gun sales and concealed carry permits have gone up, violent crime has gone down. Criminals don't want to take a chance that their target is armed.

When we create GUN FREE ZONES the law abiding citizens abide by the rules, criminals don't and they have an open shooting gallery opportunity.

If you take away all the guns from the law abiding citizens, only the criminals will have them. Take a look at Illinois, the most stringent state in the U S for gun laws.

Here is one thing to consider when the law abiding citizen isn't allowed to have a gun.

Wow, is Illinois and Chicago great or what?
Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?
Body count: In 2012 over 500 killed (murdered) in Chicago.
AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.
President: Barack Hussein Obama
Senator: Dick Durbin
House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr.
Governor: Pat Quinn
House leader: Mike Madigan
Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Mayor: Rahm Emanuel
The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.
Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.
Of course, they're all blaming each other.
Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

I fear for this (our) country.
