I have one question. Do monkey's have hairy armpits.

Next time I am walking down the street and see an ape, I’ll ask him or her!

I have heard of helicopter parents, but not airplane parents. Unfortunately the parents were his enabler. But they would probably just tell people they wanted to make their son happy.

Making your child happy and enabling dangerous behaviour are two entirely different creatures. It is important to keep one’s eyes and ears open and one’s mouth closed and appear stupid and foolish than to close one’s eyes and ears then to open your mouth and remove all doubt!!

Good for you - sounds like a great plan - I would have loved a curriculum like that in high school…..

I can’t take credit for the curriculum. It was created by the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. I would like to propose it to the New York City Board of Education and local high schools.

Still don't care.

It really isn’t a big deal. But Jerry’s message is clear. There comes a time and place for shenanigans but they have no place on the flight deck.

The other day someone suggested that “General Chit-chat” be changed to “Jerry’s Page”……..

Don’t pick on Jerry. He is a decent man who brings energy to the Hog. If you don’t wish to read his posts, so be it. Don’t read them. I for one, need the occasional giggle.

Surely this is Chit Chat?

Yes this in the wrong place. Wait….What….I’m not an Admin!

The real message here is responsibility and commitment.

As a pilot (I’m not licensed) you need certain boundaries. First you must follow a set of rules established for you. There can be no wiggle room here. Train with someone who is equally committed to positive results. Foolishness has no place and neither does irresponsibility. It is totally sad. The parents indulged their child. They should have seen this coming but their eyes were closed or they were blind. Several years ago, I chose to become a pharmacist. My parents were glad I chose a career but school was demanding and snatched my personal time. When licensed I became firmly entrenched with responsibilities and needed to remain committed to my career.
I have been licensed for over 35 years never forgetting my initial commitments to patients.
As a pilot my first lesson was a birthday gift from my wife. We both got a chance to pilot a Piper Cherokee. It is fun but the learning takes time. When I am instrument rated for a Cherokee I will move on to an Apatche. I don’t want to be a licensed commercial pilot but I have plans to develop an aviation curriculum at my former high school.

Somewhere, I still have the Boy Scout Photography Merit Badge book from the 1960s……

I didn’t know you were a Boy Scout. I was a Webelos Den Leader for Troop 193 many years ago. We were based in St Thomas Aquinas RC Church. Msgr. Lyons was a terrific man whose advice was always helpful. As Scoutmaster it was great fun helping a handful of boys and turning them into men.

That Photography Merit Badge Book needs to be brought into the Modern Era!

Since film is not dead, I would like to suggest purchasing film from Film Photography Project and B&H. Occasionally, I will purchase a handful of film with different ASAs. I keep a Sekonic light meter in my bag with my Canon EOS Rebel 2000. With virtually no effort I repaired the door latch and the door. The door was a date back version which was a nice addition back then. Sad that I can’t use the feature.I replaced the date back door and keep it in a drawer.
You can order processing from Great American Photo Lab. They changed their name from North Coast Photo Lab. They have not disappointed even after I had experimented with the film I had purchased.

I would like to thank all the Hoggers who explained Push Processing and Pull Processing.
It was also very interesting to learn about Lost Rolls America.

This keeps happening and happening. Photographers keep taking my picture and posting it without my consent. My girlfriend doesn't mind when they post her pictures, but they should at least ask for my permission. 😁

Actually, this isn't really a picture of me, but a doctor seems to have developed a simple way for any old man to get himself looking like this. The first step is to buy some spray tan. Then you buy sunglasses. So far, it sounds pretty easy. He didn't say what the third step is. I bet you have to pay to find out.

Dear Jerry: You are looking absolutely great. I am going to remodel my spare closet so I can build ukuleles and have a sculpted body like yours.

….I'm not too thrilled about the prospect of the lens hanging from the body mount while carrying the camera …….

I understand this is a daunting thought. I would like to offer two solutions to your dilemma.
The lens foot is not always the best. I have found a bracket for large zoom lens. It is called the FOTGA L200. It supports the lens to the camera body and allows you to focus with minimal effort. The second option will hold 3 separate lens attached to one’s belt It is called a TriLens Lens Holder

I don't know but if the world has 90% women they wouldn't do what you said. Men wouldn't have any problem with them.

You are correct. My wife forgets many things like, “I want to buy a Canon R3 camera”……Yet my wife always remember that six months ago, “I said that I would climb on a ladder and re-shingle the roof.” I don’t remember saying anything like that because we don’t have a ladder!

Women have selective hearing….Just remember that you were not selected!
