I know full well that many countries, including the US, is developing bio weapons and trying to learn how to counteract them (my father is a microbiologist/virologist), but there are a number of facts that suggest that even if it was accidentally released from the W***n v******y, it was not intended as a weapon. First, every virologist that has published their results shows that this was from an animal (likely a bat), not a human engineered v***s. Secondly, while it is certainly caused world chaos and caused a world wide financial depression, it’s not a very effective bioweapon as it k**ls mostly the aged and the infirm, not young healthy soldiers. Finally, what has China to gain? A huge amount of their trade is with the US. If they hurt US purchasing of Chinese goods (consumer spending was down 9% last month, and much of that was for Chinese products), it just hurts their economy as much as ours. It MAY turn out to be an accidental release from a lab in China, but I doubt it was an engineered bio attack. Having said all that, the Chinese are clearly in an expansionistic stance, especially in the South China Sea, and they are becoming closer to the Russians, Iranians and of course, the North Koreans, so I do agree that we need to be very cognizant of the threat.

Have to take exception to your saying "as it k**ls mostly the aged and the infirm, not young healthy soldiers."
It already HAS k**led some young American soldiers. Most recent is the sailor from the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt. And with the large number of infected shipmates, it is certainly possible more might die.
There's a big difference between "at lower risk" and "immune". Let's not think that there is ANY group that doesn't have to worry.
