There are a lot of companies that are well known that make backpacks. The best thing to do is research these brands for the qualities you are looking for. I just purchased a Lowepro Flipside 300 AW II. I looked at many different brands and kept coming back to this one. This is my third Lowepro bag (I purchased my first in the late 1980's) but the first backpack I've purchased from them. I have always been very happy with their products but would have purchased another brand if I had found all the options I was looking for.

I searched Amazon, B&H and Adorama.

Good luck in your search.

Having hiked many hundreds of miles with a backpack and sleeping in a tent for many months total I can attest that it is the seams that are most important, especially if they are under stress from heavy items (like cameras and lenses). Quality seams that will hold up under stress require careful planning and execution. I would not trust a $40 backpack with heavy equipment for very long. It may hold up for awhile but probably not over time. If you consider it a item to be replaced periodically than it may work out well for you. Like luvmypets I have found Lowepro bags very durable; I have owned several for many years and have never had one fail. Best of luck finding one that fits all of your needs.

I am always a bit leery of vendors who have absolutely no contact information other than a website-based contact form -- no physical address, telephone or even email address that I could find on this web site. (Although since the "Terms of Service" reference UK law, it seems reasonable to assume this is a British company.)

On the other hand $40 (plus $7 shipping) is not really a lot to risk, and you can always donate it to the Goodwill if it's a total dud!

Marked down $160, really? I wouldn't trust it. I would check out the thinktank bags, I have three of them and the quality is as good as you will find. I just saw they have a 20% off on their bags, maybe I will get another one.

Having hiked many hundreds of miles with a backpac... (show quote)

Let me add that poor quality zippers and latches will also doom a backpack.

Yes. If you go down through the ad it says NOMATIC and shows Peter McKinnon.

They did a kickstarter for this and other bags late last year. Sounds like a marketing company to me. Really wonky return policy too.

Thank you Everyone for your Comments. they are saying what my conscious was saying but I didn't want to hear. I am looking at it as a storage bag more than anything. I will be taking a trip out to California in the near future and this would give me an organized bag for my camera gear and drone as well as small laptop and clothing. my current bag won't fit my my Telephoto lens.. As stated, for the price, Its not a bad bag. Im not familiar with the Peter McKinnon X Nomatic I will look into it. Was this a good bag? or are you saying this is that bag? I looked at this video( https://youtu.be/iDJx6r1QwUU ) and It sure looks like the same bag! if so . for 40 bucks, I think I'm going to pull the trigger. Too many option not to pass it up.the filter, battery and memory card pouches are worth almost that price! Im going to look at it a little more but if this is what it looks like I am sold. plus it fits the carry on rules for the airlines! I wont check my cameras! Again, Thank you for your input and for pointing out that this is the X Nomatic bag. I.ll repost if I get it and let you know if its a good deal or a bust. Either way, as said, for forty bucks I cant go too wrong.

If you order it I'd be very surprised if you actually receive the bag; this looks remarkably like a rip-off I fell for some time back involving a Canada Goose parka. Photos stolen from another site, no identifying information on the company, no way to contact them either electronically or physically, and prices so low as to be almost impossible to believe. The bags on the Peter McKinnon X NOMATIC site are $399, and this one is $39? Right.

On the parka deal I realized after six weeks of not being able to contact them that I had been had, and since I had put it on a credit card I was able to reclaim my money. After 80 years on this planet you'd think I'd have been smarter.

I have sent the company an email and asking for proof and reviews. They have no search results on the web They have no social media pages and they only give an email link to contact them. So I emailed them I;ll see if they replay. They are located on Shopify. that is where I tracked their site to originate from. Although Shopify as a site is Legit, They cannot attest to the validity of the site that they serve. so I doubt I will be buying this product although it would be nice to have it be real..

Try a legit company or at least, someone who sells through Amazon.
