Time will tell if this will apply in any other case. On the surface it is just a breach of contract and should have never gotten to SCOTUS. I am sure the lawyers made more than the plaintiff. However, if someone sues an AI artist that takes a copyrighted image and modifies for profit this case MIGHT have some use.

Are you using these Long Exposure apps? Got any images to show us?

Laughs. Look at Glyn’s video. I live in Santa Barbara with no easily accessible streams (74 with bad back and neck) and pretty flat ocean this time of the year. Heading to Yosemite soon where that will change.

One of the most interesting new features of my iPhone 14 pro is shooting long exposures of up to hours on a tripod or up to 30 seconds handheld. The first by the apps Even Longer and ReeXpose and the hand held by ReeHeld. No filters, no tripod and great results. Glyn Dewis, a Scottish photographer is showing a lot of videos on these at his YouTube website https://www.youtube.com/@glyndewis

The answer is neither.. ProPhoto RGB is the largest color space but no monitor or printer can handle it as of now.

Perhaps you could be more specific about the steps you took (and operating system). I can't figure out how you "moved a JPEG to Camera Raw". I created a similar image and saved it as a Jpeg. When I open it, it bypasses Camera Raw and opens in PS because it's a Jpeg.

In Photoshop you can go to camera raw with filters/Camera Raw even for jpg.

I like it that you just ignore what I said. And by the way I teach Photoshop and Lightroom Classic on the college level. I am very aware of its positive features and the extreme learning curve in Photoshop. I own and have tried almost every major post processing product that runs on Macs - apple photo, Pixelmator pro, Affinity Photo , On1 Raw, On1 plugins for Photoshop and Lightroom Classic , Topaz DeNoise, Topaz Gigapixel , Topaz Sharpen AI , All of the Luminar apps including Neo, all of creative cloud plus apple aperture.

I have been doing landscape and sports photography for over 50 years both as a pro and amateur. Even with that experience I respect other peoples opinions.

absolutely correct about snakes. In may it is warm enough they will be out during the day. With the wildflower bloom lots of images of rattlers being posted in photo groups in Facebook. I haven’t heard of any bites yet which shocks the heck out of me as I see all these images of families with small children just walking around in the fields. The Southern California rattler types have very good camouflage especially in dirt or rocks.

have fun , be careful..take that once in a lifetime shot..

so I have a M1 Mac Mini with 16gb ram

a 31MB raw image in ACR took about a minute. The biggest problem I see with the Adobe version is that is pretty much as push a button and done. I have Topaz DeNoise and On1 NoNoise. But the image with no other processing became 171MB

in standalone Topaz DeNoise it took about 10 seconds or less from start to finish. But I got a 172MB file. it was bit faster using Topaz DeNoise as a plugin but same file size

With On1 NoNoise inside On1 Raw it is just a raw setting with a couple of version plus multiple sliders. It took about 8 secs and the original image was not touched. the On1 sidecar was 658KB.

I am surprised adobe released this right to a fully released function. Usually they will be putting something this in a beta release first like they do some of the neural filters. As a retired software exec I can tell you .0 releases are for features and testing (yes you are a guinea pig). Then .1 and beyond address bug fixes and performance.

Time will tell

I have seen nothing that announced Canon approved this lens. The only relationship I’ve seen is for voightlander for a 50mm 1.0 lens. Canon has said it will approve RF 3rd party lens on a case by case decision. If you were them would you only approve lens that wouldn’t cut into their sales?

There are other options to replace LightRoom Classic though it is a very good Data Asset Management and uses the same raw processor as Photoshop. Adobe is moving some of the functionality of Photoshop to Lightroom. The one thing it can’t do is layers. But when you push an image to Photoshop from Lightroom it creates a new image so your original is still in Lightroom. And if you use layers in Photoshop not touching your background layer it is non-destructive especially if you use smart objects and save in either tiff or psd to save the layers.

That said there are option that have most of the features of Lightroom and Photoshop like On1 , pse, or Luminar.

Look into cotton carrier and peak design products. I think they have better solutions than a strap especially if hiking around in the back country especially with a heavy rig you have.

Some learn from books. There are good ones. Others are more "visual".

For me, computer programs need visual. I also need an organized course. Random works to improve skills after I have the basics mastered.

My current favorite is Matt Kloskowski. You pay for his courses. They are installed on your computer so you don't need an internet connection.

If I had not already paid for Matt's, I would strongly consider Theresa Jackson's course on LinkedIn Learning. You can get a first month free or use a local library for access. https://www.linkedin.com/learning/lightroom-classic-essential-training/using-the-exercise-files?autoSkip=true&autoplay=true&resume=false

Other well known paid expert teachers are Scott Kelby and Tim Grey.

No cost experts are Anthony Morganti, Terry White and Julianne Kost.

Victoria Brampton has a good book.

all great choices. You could look at your local adult ed classes through a city college. In many cases they have great classes usually free. I am lucky in that I live in Santa Barbara which was the home to one of the photography schools around when Ernie Brooks ran it (not after the ’non-profilt’ bought it and destroy it) Brooks Institute. As a result the professors I have at Santa Barbara City College are all old Brooks professors. Our classes remain online and are free. I believe you can register for them even if you aren’t in the Santa Barbara area. Also of interest if you are a California city college student (including these free adult ed classes) you can get a complete creative cloud account for a bit less than $80 per year...

You clearly know nothing about Adobe.
this is actually in response to the poster this post referred to.

Yes, perhaps you can look at their earning report. Most of their revenue and profit is based on other venues than Photoshop and Lightroom. Most of it is based on commercial products like cloud hosting and business apps.

And I don’t know where you live but the photography bundle is about $120 year. I pay $80/yr for all of the creative cloud bundles.

Affinity Photo is a great product and it is the best value for a paid product (if you really want to be cheap get Gimp). But it has no digital asset management.

I teach Photoshop and Lightroom, but I use another product as my primary solution, on1. However, changes that adobe has made around masking makes it the superior product on the marketplace, whether you use Photoshop or Lightroom. You can do most of your work even as a pro in Lightroom now, and only have to go over to Photoshop for very specific features.
