Bottom line is that you are legally responsible for paying the use tax. I pay it every quarter. As my father said, "If you are honest with everyone and yourself, you will always know you did the right thing." So, pay your taxes.

Hi Martha,
Welcome! I have a Nikon D90(oldy but a goody) which I used the 18-200 VR Zoom Nikon for years. Great lens which in 35 speak was essentially a 27 to 300mm. Then I loaded a Sigma 10-20 for wide wide shots. Just recently got the D7500 with the 18-55 VR and the 70-300 VR. Believe it or not these new AP designated lenses are fantastic. So, depending on my planned shoot, I now mostly have the 18-55 or the 18-200 mounted; the D90 is now housing the 10-20 for the most part. As many have said, what your walk about lens is really a personal choice and is predicated on what you plant to shoot that day. Can't go wrong with the 18-200 IMHO. Best of luck and keep on shooting.

Years ago I slipped down a cliff and fell in the river with my Nikon D 90. I was sure the camera was ruined. I immediately took out the battery but the camera down on the seat and drove home. The river was a muddy mess and so was my camera and lens...oh by the way they were both only a week old. I decided to soak the camera and lens and big vat of water emptying out the water every time it got dirty. When the water was very clear I took the camera out and let it sit on a towel for a day...then I put the camera and lens in a giant bag of rice for a week. I put a new battery in, said a prayer and everything worked. I did have to take the front element off the 18-200 zoom to clean mud off the element under it. I am still using the D90 today. Hope you are as fortunate.

Wow and I thought I was the only one who took advantage of all the opportunities a dark room offered. The time was the late 60's and a lot of sexual activity "developed" for me under the dim yellow glow. Both the girl and I were never "fixed" with birth control, and fortunately my "enlarger " always worked flawlessly.
Happy 2018 everyone.

I upgraded from a D90 to the D7500 this year. In my case, it was a dramatic improvement. Focus speed and accuracy - amazing. Low light performance blew away the older camera. I never had a dual card slot so no difference to me.

I exhibit and sell my photographs at art shows during the year, shooting landscapes, country scenes, architecture, autos and trains, and nature.

The digital file is the negative of today...so many options to create your artistic rendering of the scene you captured. Some of my photographs are minimally post processed while others I work on to make the original into what I envisioned it to become. For example, an old Victorian Mansion becoming rather gloomy, dark and possibly haunted.

I used Photoshop for many years; switched to Elements 14 when it cam out and have never looked back. I augment with ON1 Raw, Topaz Adjust and Nik Software. I recently added Aurora 2018 to the mix for additional HDR processing, even though I have Photomatix and ON1 now offers HDR processing with their latest iteration.

Try as many "trial versions" as you can before making a final decision.

Ansel Adams once stated he hoped to be around when analog became digital. The art if photography is on seeing before pressing the shutter button. I shot with this early Kodak cameras where shutter speed, aperture, figuring where to aim to best overcome parallax error, and distance had to be set, then looked through a blurry little window, taking the shot, hoping for the best. I welcomed the SLR, using a Kinoca Auto Reflex with external, on body exposure meter. Now I shoot with a Nikon D90 and D7500. The difference between the older D90 and the new D7500 are astounding. This proved out on a recent model shoot and an evening architectural shoot. Sure technology helps with exposure and focus, but it still come down to seeing the shot in
Your head while eyes look at light and shadow, and the overall scene. I have had people visit with me at art shows with far more expensive cameras and lens hanging on their neck. But the photos they show me are, in most cases, nothing more than poorly composed snap shots that have technically accurate exposure. I used to shot weddings ... So funny to see all these people online professing to be wedding photographers...the photos they put online show their true quality, as you see light poles coming out of people's heads and so on. Having a 3 or 4 thousand dollar camera be itself does not make you an artist of photography.

Can't give a definitive answer ... But based on huge jpg or raw buffer, 51 focusing points, and focus tracking, along with the very fast focusing of the 70-300( really 100-450 due to APS, don't think you would be disappointed with the D7500, which as you know inherited a lot of the inner workings from the D500!

Go to Costco for the D7500 two lens kit...I upgraded from a D90. The two new AF-P lenses have proven to lived up the their excellent reviews and both have VR. I also have the venerable Nikon 18-200 VR lens, the 35mm f1.8 and the Sigma 10-20
