I have seen several posts concerning 42nd St Photo on this site, not all positive. They have a Canon SX60 HS advertised for $369.00 with free shipping. Is this a good deal? Could it be gray market and if so would Canon honor the warranty or repair it if necessary? Thanks for any advice.

Have you found ANY positive? There’s a reason for this. They are a bait and switch, grey market, no factory warranty (they’ll try to sell you an extra cost one) dealer. If you buy from them after knowing all this, then you’ll deserve the treatment you get.

Run away from them, until you get tired. Buy at your own risk. I would suggest you call Canon USA, and see if you can get a refurbished SX60, hopefully for near the same price. $369. With a USA warranty.

Hey - I have some nice, dry land in Florida and a bridge in New York for sale.....

Seriously - if it does not say "USA Warranty", it is gray market. ALSO - sellers of non-gray market cameras cannot just drop the prices. So - if the price offered is below the MSRP, it is probably gray-market.

Wayne, any time you see an ad like this one, think of this adage: "If it seems to good to be true, it usually is." DON'T get sucked into a bottomless pit. You do not get anything for nothing...

I will have to say, I have bought from 42nd St Photo, and I have nothing bad, only good things to say about them. When I would ask if the item I was interested in was a gray market item, I was always answered honestly. I never experienced the "bait and switch" method I have heard others complain about. And, I have experienced no problems with the items I have purchased from them. So, based on my experience, would I purchase from them again, yes I would. I am wondering....all of the negative comments made by hoggers on this post....are you speaking from personal experience, or are you speaking from "hearsay experience?"
