Check out the Tokina 100mm- IQ and cost are difficult to match. I've had both the Nikon 105mm and the Tokina 100mm. I feel the Tokina IQ was as good and even better than the Nikon.

They will all fail...have two or three backups and an off site bake up, either physical or cloud. If you don't mind loosing all of your photos...don't bother with backups.

If you go with the Nikon d750... nothing says you have to ever articulate the screen if you don't want to...

He may want to rethink Apple Care. I've used it twice in the last six months. Maybe he's lucky...I hope. Out of pocket would have been $1600 on the Macbook Air alone...stuff happens.

I’m in my mid sixties, typically shooting with a Nikon D610. My eyes are just “OK” using corrective lenses. When looking through the view finder, indoors or outside, on a overcast day I can read the green numbers and lettering with no problem. On a sunny day I find it almost impossible. I prefer not using the LED screen on top of the camera or the live view as an alternative. Any suggestions or successes you may have had?

Cleaning out the storage area this week I ran across several reels of 8mm film. Most on 6" reels ranging in age from 40-70 years. Several options appeared on a Google search. Can anyone recommend a company or service for transfer to DVDs? Thanks in advance!

Life is not about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain.

Have you ever wondered why it's OK to make jokes about , the Pope,
Jews, Christians, the Irish, the Italians, the Polish, the Chinese,
the French (including French Canadians), the elderly, bad golfers,
men/women b****s/w****s, etc, but its insensitive to make
jokes about Muslims? Time to level the playing field and be
politically correct by including the Muslims!

Jeff Foxworthy on Muslims:

1. If you refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral
objection to liquor, You may be a Muslim.

2. If you own a $3,000 machine gun and a $5,000 rocket launcher,
but you can't afford shoes, You may be a Muslim.

3. If you have more wives than teeth, You may be a Muslim.

4. If you wipe your butt with your bare hand but consider bacon to
be unclean, You may be a Muslim.

5. If you think vests come in two styles: Bullet-proof and
suicide. You may be a Muslim

6. If you can't think of anyone you haven't declared jihad
against, You may be a Muslim.

7. If you consider television dangerous but routinely carry
explosives in your clothing, You may be a Muslim.

8. If you were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other
than setting off roadside bombs, You may be a Muslim.

9. If you have nothing against women and think every man should
own at least four, You may be a Muslim.

If you find this offensive.................. tough !

Besides Time Cap... consider a second drive. For example: a usb 3, 5TB drive @ Costco is $139.00. SuperDuper! and Carbon copy cloner are great imaging programs (copies the entire drive and is bootable). USB 3 is very quick and you can never have to many backups.

I've replaced all 200 "cans" in my house. 65W replacement Feit brand from Costco. I think they use about 13.5 watts. I've done it over about a years time. No failures yet. Needless to say I've noticed a significant decrease in my electric bill. I think the $10 buck a bulb investment will show a quick ROI
