I am currently in the market for a full frame camera. The three I am currently looking at are all very similar in price and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I am needing advice on these three only. Please tell me your likes and dislikes and your experience with them. I picked these based on my budget of $2,000.

1. Sony a7ii (Mark 2)
2. Canon 6D
3. Nikon 610

I currently shoot landscape, some street photography, many portraits of family and friends as well as indoor shots where the lighting is not always best and flash will be distracting.

So, let's just keep this about these cameras with their respective kit lenses. I know this forum is full of wonderful advise on what lenses to upgrade to, but for now, just help me decide between these three.

Do you have lenses in any of the 3 mounts?

No, I am upgrading from an APS-C camera (to remain nameless - ha). No lenses or attachments that will affect the decision.

Since I have Nikon & Sony(D7100 & Sony Bridge) I would go with the Nikon since I already have fx Lenses that I use on my D7100. If I could get a deal on a Sony w/lenses I would consider it as well since the bridge camera shoots some really good 6mp pictures. I haven't found a Canon that felt good in my hands yet.

I won't try to influence your decision since I have no personal experience with the Canon or Sony but I would suggest that in your decision process that you substitute the D750 for the D610 Nikon. The price differential is still in your budget and the improvements in the two bodies is significant.

Thanks Bob, I will consider the D750. I have recently had someone suggest that camera as well. I have owned Canon and Sony APS-C cameras, so I know those, but interested in Nikon and others take on it as well.

Thanks again!

The only drawback for me with the D750 is the moveable LCD screen. I have seen one Canon & 2 Nikons have the articulated screens break.

Interesting, so, do you prefer fixed screens?

For me, since I am pretty much the person that slips on the banana peel, Yes I like a fixed screen. I believe that the D810 has a screen protector you can buy to clip on the lcd to keep it from getting scratched.

750 is suppose to be an outstanding camera, has won several awards. The two people I know that has one have nothing but praise.

I have 4 canon cameras with articulated screens and one is 11 years old. There the greatest especially for low angle and high overhead shots. You have to be really rough to break one or maybe drunk. I really miss that feature on my 6D.

Dick, what do you like about your 6d? How is the quality of the images especially in low light?
