Like sarge69 I took typing in high school, not just because of the girls but I needed to fill an hour. The military made me admin because of that. Due to all the meetings I've had to go to early on I wish I had taken shorthand also (before small recorders) another class filled with girls.
I remember scenes like that, lived in Apple Valley ('73) for a short time, moved to Victorville, then on George AFB. Loved the desert!
Wife and I headed to Goose Pond last Sunday to see what is passing through. Lots of Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes, there were a couple of Eagles but they were too far for a good shot. A long, but enjoyable day.
Yes it is a type of democracy, however the POTUS is not elected by the direct popular v**e of the people. Thank goodness or the East and left coasts would have picked Hillary to be the president. While we may not be perfect, having lived in other countries I prefer here with all it's flaws, be they real or imaginary. As was pointed out we are a melting pot and have many diverse nationalities/races represented, unlike Norway.
As with most of the lamestream media and the goofy left they have forgotten their high school government classes. We are not a democracy, we are a republic. I invite all those who think Norway, Sweden or any other EU country they think is better to please move, we will somehow get along without you.
When we got married I asked the wife which she preferred, she said she didn't give a damn as long as there was a roll. Our cats don't bother it, now the paper towel roll is another story.
We took our winter vacation in January to Clifty Falls State Park at Madison Indiana. (Park Inns offer two nights for the price of one). A couple of my favorite shots. The sunrise over the Ohio River on the only morning it wasn't cloudy (from the balcony) and a point and shoot at some ducks we surprised on a hike (no time to change settings)
Even though we live in a valley reception via outside antenna worked most of the time. Switched to cable when it came through town after a while I decided I wasn't getting my moneys worth (always something better to do). Pulled the plug about 25 years ago, never looked back.
When I was shopping for a new camera I ended up choosing between a Nikon and a Canon. Both at the time were comparable in the feel, controls and all the other areas, couldn't really tell much of a difference. Ended up with the Nikon, it was on sale, since then I also bought a Cannon Rebel as my backup camera, from a relative who received it as payment for some work and didn't want to take the time to figure out how to use it.
As a seasonal park employee in Indiana we do not and I would guess others to not consider that as a motorized vehicle. The concern is cars, mopeds etc.
In the same boat as tramsey, however it's been 25 years since my TV was hooked to anything, just use it for DVD's.
Great pictures. I've been there a couple of times and recognized each location.
Around here UPS doesn't drop off at the house if you're not home, it ends up at the local Post Office (sometimes even if you are home).
I participated once. Home Depot had a table saw I wanted. 20 minutes to drive there, walked in, got the saw, walked out and went home.
