Curious about this expression. Since a lot of lenses have a sweet spot two Av higher, eg, my f2.8 is best at F5.6, does it really boil down to DOF?
If my flash can be triggered remotely without a cord, why can I just hold it at arms length in my left hand and camera in my right? I use a hand strap when holding the camera with one hand.

Since I use Magic Lantern on my Canon, I have access to a raw histogram, which is occasionally useful when pushing the exposure as far to the right as possible.
I do not use Magic Lantern, but do expose to the right almost to over exposing as the camera is not that accurate on the right side and in PP I see that it is really OK. Most of the time!
On the V700 I used for all my old slides, negs, and photos I needed to remove the Transparency unit (lift up after disconnecting the cable) first , remove the screws holding the top document table section, and then carefully remove document table for cleaning the glass (use lint free gloves). Reverse the procedure to put back together. Also, do not forget to un-lock the scanner's carriage and transparency unit. I think I covered all the steps. See 'Transporting the scanner' in the manual if you have questions.
I would like to just hang the printed glass photo in my window like I fo with stained glass hangings!

I use an app from ADobe that converts RAW to DNG, and I copy the RAW to a folder then convert, this way I keep my Masters.
When I import, convert for PEF, and save to a b/u drive. the DNG's are on my computer and the orig PEF RAW files are on the b/u drive.
Thanks, editorsteve, I do drag it out occasionally. Mostly on long vacations.
Two photos from a Soligor 80-200 F4 at 200 (300) on my Pentax K5-IIs. Not the best. Only converted to B&W.
Also, no touchscreen that is available in the lx10 & zs100. To me, any of these 3 cameras would do and it is becoming quite a dilemma for me for a backup camera to Greece & Kauai. My old LX3 still works fine as long as I do not wish to print large. I know I am wishy-washy and have discussed this many times, and done many comparisons and watched many videos and read many reviews. So why can I not make a decision? Beats me!

Am interested to know why you were dissatisfied with the LX100. No judgment here, just curiosity.

It turned out to be an international model. (sorry it took so loooong to reply!)
Thanks for the responses. Sorry to take so long to get back in touch. Two day overnighter with three granddaughters takes a toll and all my time!
I was planning on showing the 4k movies on my 4k TV (Sammy 55mu9000) but I noticed that someone was concerned about how to accomplish this feat. And I will probably not be doing any serious editing beyond removing frames. Question is can I do this with CC LP/PS od do I need a new program. If so, my Sony Bloggie os Sammy 6Edge phone may see some action. Otherwise, it seems that people lean towards lx10 or lx100. This is to replace the aging lx3.
Hi all,
I have a 17 night trip to greece and the Islands coming up and was thinking of getting a P&S with 4K movie capability to complement my Pentax K5-IIs & lenses. Looking at the Panasonic ZS100 or the LX10 (budget allows this $$). Daytime will probably be the K5-IIs and also some night shots. So I am leaning towards the LX10 for the 4K movies through the day & night.
Any opinions out there?
Thanks, Richard
On vacations, I take my K5-IIs and a backup panasonic camera.
I would REALLY like a 16-300 f/2.8 Macro weather resistant (WR) that is only 3" long... oh, and fast focus with great IQ. Otherwise, I will stay with what I got; a 15, 27-75, and 100mm in 35mm equiv all f2.8
