All great tips, BCH. I would also add, "Mirror Up" lock. This will help eliminate vibration that may be caused by mirror slap.

These were my first attempt: You can view EXIF data for information.

You bring up a valid point. Mirror lock-up IS very important if you are the kind that doesn't learn to open the shutter until they see the "bloom". If you are anticipating the shot, it is not really necessary, but it's never a bad idea.

Only if you learn from your experiences. Unfortunately, I have encountered a number of people who, after 20 years, have one year of experience repeated 20 times.

Well, that's better than one year of feigned experience and nineteen years of denial.

jt, welcome to the Hog.

It looks like a good day to start again. Vicodin and Vodka go well together, as do Kadian and Canadian.

Also consider Optech binocular harness; best weight distribution I've found.

One of my family members asked me to shoot their wedding after firing 2 photographers due to price. I told them I was unsure due to the fact I’m not even close to a professional and I basically shoot in auto most of the time (I know, I’m working on it). I took a few pictures of their dogs playing before and based on those pictures they decided I was a great photographer (see pics below). Anyway, I told them if they really needed me I would do my best but I could not promise anything and they said that was fine and they’d pay me a little too. So I’m asking those with experience for tips and tricks. I only have a canon t6, an 18-55 mm lens, a 75-300 mm lens, 0.43x wide angle lens 55mm and 2.2 x telephoto lens 52 mm. I wanted to buy an off camera flash but that is not an option for me right now due to money. I know I’m very limited on equipment but what lenses would be best for the ceremoney, reception, group shots, etc. Also, what settings should I have my camera on? I read on a few sites that aperture priority is best for weddings. Opinions? Thank you!!

You have my condolences on the death of you brother-in-law's great aunt; I'm sure she lived a good life in her 106+ years. It's too bad that her funeral has been scheduled at the same time of the wedding, but paying you last respect to the deceased is the right thing to do. Oh, why weren't others invited to the funeral. Well, it was an obscure, but close relationship; if nobody else in the family didn't know about her, how could they get an invitation? So it's said that they'll have to hire a professional photographer. You could offer to defer part of the cost as a wedding gift and in memory of the dear departed.

What am I doing wrong???

Over the years, I’ve owned and used a number of digital cameras from at least five major manufacturers, up to my current Canon G16 and Canon70D. I have used memory cards – from reputable brands – in all of them. I download my picture files directly from the camera to my computer and then erase them from the card (while in the camera). I never have formatted any memory card – in or out of the camera. I never have had a problem of any kind with this routine!

What am I doing wrong?

What are you doing wrong? I would say your major problem is not listening to the majority of suggestions (tally them up) you have received over the last 5+ pages of responses.

I am a relatively new subscriber to this forum and am beginning to understand why it is called the "Ugly" Hedgehog. Why are there so many jackasses posting on this forum. If you can't say something constructive or nice, why not keep your damn mouth shut. I am tired of all the negativity on this forum, we have enough to deal with in this world as it is. Ok, now I am finished with my venting. Have a great day and great shooting.

There are a multitude of forums on the internet; I'm sure one of those will meet your needs. Good-bye!

What is that white splotches that are between tree limbs for example. Almost looks like a huge spider web but the weave is much closer together. Thanks.

Please post photos of this problem, including macros, if possible.
