Yes true. I put a float on my Nikons 3&5. Haven’t lost one yet

Since the label indicated a II and the serial # matched, has it occured to you that maybe Adorama was fooled also? Maybe the person who originally bought that camera got conned. The actual crook could be anyone or it could have simply been a mixup at the factory. You don't know what the real story may be, so why just point at someone and yell "thief"?

I'm nearing my wits' end looking for this item (P. S., if this belongs in another sub-forum, please move).

I have a (very) old Sony Dream Machine (model # ICF CL75iP) that when new, was pretty cool in that it not only served as a digital alarm clock and photo frame, but also as a 30-pin charger for iPhones and iPods. The 30-pin designation should give you some idea of how old it is. The original description says, "The Sony ICF-CL75iP Multi-Function Clock Radio for iPod is more than just a clock radio. The CL75iP docks and charges your iPod or iPhone, has dual alarms, and plays videos and photos on the 7 in diagonal LCD screen. It also features 1GB of built-in memory, inputs for SD cards and Memory Stick media, and a USB connection."

It has been my bedside clock-radio for years. I particularly enjoy putting my photos on it and having a never-ending slideshow complete with the clock showing over the image. But it's dying.

They can still be had, but Sony discontinued them years ago, and the 30-pin connector is useless now, so I'm looking for something newer to replace it.

Do you know how difficult it is to find something like this?

All the current offerings are listed as "smart" devices. They connect to the Internet, have cameras, Alexa (or some such) and use photos stored in the "cloud."

I don't want a smart device. I'm very happy having a "stupid" home, without Siri, Alexa or Google listening to everything I say. Or having a camera in my bedroom. In fact, I don't even want another "connected" device on my already congested home network.

But it seems no one sells such a device anymore. And those that require wi-fi can't use the newer 5G band. Those that have a photo overlay don't have the capacity to store local photos. It's always one thing or another that's a deal-killer.

Does anyone use such a device? Can you point me in the right direction? THANKS!

I found this one that has a SD card slot and a USB port to upload to your pictures

I have just today run across some old floppy disks (the hard ones, approximately 3 1/2" X 3 1/2") and I do not have a reader that would accept them. I know there is genealogy data on them as I have used them in the past. Does anyone out there know where I could find a reader that I could use to access whatever is stored on them? I do appreciate any assistance that is offered.

I bought the one on Amazon and it works great on my laptop with system 11 and for under $15.00 can’t go wrong

I hate seeing and hearing these terms because they're simply not true. I've been seeing and hearing these expressions way too much lately. I'm sure you have others to add.

"This changes everything." No, it doesn't. Nothing, short of the earth being hit by a giant asteroid, changes everything.

"This will bring you to the next level." No, it won't - unless you're talking about an elevator or a flight of stairs. There is no next level. You either improve at something, or you don't. You don't read an article and become transported to some imaginary space.

"This will blow your mind." No, it won't. I might find it mildly interesting or amusing, but it's not going to affect my mind. That expression is what you might call click bait, but why would you want to click on something that would destroy your mind?

That's all for now.
