I also don’t watch series much, but Mash comes to mind as being on the top. But if you were to add games, Jeopardy has to be a demonstration of how amazing the human brain is as far as storing information.

How did they define "best?" Longest running? Most innovative? Highest rating? Created new social norms? Dave O has a good list and I might add some family dramas like Sisters or Parenthood. Taxi deserves a nod for sitcoms and St. Elsewhere for medical drama

I agree wholeheartedly with Breaking Bad. Also, The Walking Dead. For comedies, I Love Lucy and Seinfeld.

When they put me in a nursing home and stick a TV in front of me to keep me quiet, I hope it's showing reruns of The Beverly Hillbillies.
