One of my sons has been living in Los Angeles for the past 4 years. He, like many Californians, is considering a move out of state, possibly back to Texas. Dunno if he'll do that or not...but...
Here's a tune you likely know ... modified by me for my son's next domicile.
♫ California We Are Done ♫
♫ California, we are done.
I'm goin' back to where I'm from.
I'm aching and shaking from crime and deadbeats.
Each morning at dawning, they poop in the streets.
An L.A. junkie said "Give me a fix."
Tent City, of homeless, have mostly goldbricks.
So open up that Southern mix
Dallas Texas here I come. ♫
P.S. You can change Dallas Texas to a nice city of your choosing.
The only thing about Calif that sucks is the governor, congress, laws, and lack of freedom. Otherwise it’s a damn nice place to live. And I’ve been here for 75 years so I know . My advice if you can is get the hell out.
If our governor runs for president and wins, all of the USA will turn into one giant cesspool called California.
I've never been there. And I don't intend to go there. I'd comment further but I don't want to get banned.

Most major cities across the country all have those same issues. I’m happy for you that Dallas does not.
There are two California states. The northern area is primarily conservative and lightly populated with rural communities. The one in the south, from San Francisco to Mexico is the liberals paradise. There is a law for everything you enjoy.there is a governmental committee that is designed to make laws to take away every freedom you possess. It’s literally a helluva place to live.

Southern California does not start in San Francisco. As someone who claims to have been living in California for 75 years should know that.

Kinda like Colorados Eastern Slope vs Western Slope. Give me the West anytime.
We just moved to a new subdivision that exploded in the last two years. Lots of people from CA.

I grew up in S. Cal during the 50’s and 60’s. I was a wonderful place to live: beaches/mountains/desert. My wife and I fled about 7-8 years ago. I would h**e to be the last taxpayer remaining in the state.

In the 60s the air in southern California made one's eyes burn. My experience was in Anaheim, I have to believe LA was worse.

That I would agree with. The air quality was horrible but has improved dramatically. That’s a good thing.
