I have been using Pentax all my life. Started with K100, then PZ-1P. Moved to digital about 5 years ago. I have a K7 & also the new K5. Most of my lens's are Sigma. I have a 300, 2.8, 300 4.5 as a back up. I have been using my 150-500 a lot this winter. Just one problem with pentax, not quite the lens selections. I thought I was missing the boat by not owning Canon or Nikon but I think I'm doing ok with Pentax! None of these have been edited, straight from the camera.

thanks to every one for the suggestions! I have learned a few things!
I have learned my lession, never should have got in on this conversation!!!!!!!!
I think the Pentax did ok on this photo!
I guess us Pentax owners must really be down at the bottom!
they are covering the cost, I just told them I would check into it for them. I told them it would easily be $100.00 7 they said fine. It is much easier to do something to scale with say a stuffed bird in hand. Thanks for the help I've been getting on this.
thanks for info & comment about photo
Hopefully someone out there can help me. I took a winning photo last year that a woodcarving club would like to do a full scale carving. Besides a print in the 18" x 20" size (for accurate color reproduction) they would also like a print just to get accurate measurements so this can be carved to scale. They are looking for something say (full frame) 5' x 4'. I would think this would not be on photographic paper but something with a little body to it so it would hold up to repeated handling. Any sugestions would greatly be appreciated.

These are all taken in Michigan this winter, well kind of a winter. Not much snow in my neck of the woods

I have both the K5 & the K7! the only problem it seems with pentax is finding the bigger telephoto lens. Sigma does make a 500, F4.5 but that is the biggest quality lens you will find to fit Pentax cameras.
Photos were taken in very cloudy conditions. How does exposure look? Adult eagle shots were not cropped any, bird was that close. Using a Sigma 100-500mm, f4.5-6.3. Pentax body K5.

This is indeed a Imm Bald Eagle ~ 2 year age class. I band eagles yearly with USFWS.
