Thank you! After shooting for years from a prone position in wet sand and tidal pools, sand in the pants is no big deal any more. The last American Oystercatcher shot was taken in high winds. What looks at first like an out of focus area is actually blowing sand. Mom had one chick already tucked under her, and the other one was trying to find his/her way in. BTW, that shot took a 3 1/2 mile hike out and back. Didn't mind it at all. I never do. IMO, it is so much more enjoyable to shoot this way than from a raised board walk loaded with other photographers. Went to the Alligator Farm twice 2 years ago, and that was enough!!
