Subscribe. Didn’t feel I had an option with Catalina.

I like carrying a prime on my camera. It just makes the total package smaller and lighter. Which focal length you use is up to you. Most of my shooting is outdoors and my 24mm lens works just fine.

I’ve had similar good results with my R. I purchased a second Canon battery, both of which I can charge directly in the camera with my Gnarbox charger. It makes for a compact travel gear set. I’m very happy with the batteries performance.

I would make the RAM upgrade and enjoy the “new” life in you existing computer.

Eneloop in both AA and AAA. I believe they are manufactured by Panasonic. Reliable, consistent and good value.

I would definitely send it back. And I would not do any business with them in the future.

Sounds like a reasonable approach. My decision came down to those two. I picked the cheaper option. Either would work. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Oh yeah. Film loader, reusable cartridges, 200 foot rolls of Tri-X—I even loaded Ektacrome slide film.

I recently purchased an HP Z27. I did considerable research and decided on it. I've been very satisfied and it didn't break the bank. I would suggest just add it to the ones you check out.

The Apple recommendation at the top of the comments is solid. However, I would recommend looking on the official Apple website and look for their refurbished units. You have to go all the way to the bottom of the first page. I have had several Apple laptops over the years. If I can find the model I want, I always get the refurbished unit. They are units that have been returned for some reason. They are checked, repaired if needed, and sold at a discount--about 15%. It's definitely worth checking out.

I’ve donated old gear to youth programs in NYC and SEATTLE. Check around in your local community. The best source I’ve found is local camera repair stores. They seem to know what programs are out there that can use donated gear.

Someone mentioned the Canon EF 400mm f:5.6. It’s a superb lens. Not too big. I was able to find a nice one on the Canon users website.

I’ve had and used the 100 mm, f:2.8 for more than ten years. It is a great lens. The trick is using it correctly. Good lighting and a steady base—tripod or otherwise—are key.
Good luck.
