in Jupiter Juno Beach Florida for some graduation shots. My niece needs some on short notice (sry). No beginners but don't necessarily need a Pro as budget a bit tight. No prints just take some good shots. They provide a thumb drive and cash for 2-3 hours. Juno Pier is the target. He fishes there. Like the place and wants something reflective of that. You get all credits on any prints. Maybe a good photog student? Deadline is Sept. 15 to be submitted for yearbook. You also get usage rights.

Spent part of the week at rented house and shot some waterfalls in the Park. First set of Tom Branch Falls is the normal flow in Deep Creek. This is a popular tubing spot all summer long and there are a half of dozen places to rent tubes. The 22nd was nice, cool and bit cloudy but that evening and night we received over 3" of rain. Went back the next morning and shot the same water fall and same creek. That day, the tube folks were not renting tubes, too dangerous. Also shot 2 other falls with well above average flows.

Tribute to Otis Redding, I guess. Nah ... just post whatever you have to fit the idea …

Unlike my LAST Posted Challenge - this one is NOT limited to just one pic … post as many as you want.

This one will run through Labor Day ….

BTW - this is NOT my best pic of this scene, but, I came across it, pretty quickly …

All taken in or around Edgewater, FL. Sunrise mostly.

I am looking for some recommendations on how I can carry my camera which is attached to my tripod.I am a small, older, women & can not lift my camera attached to my tripod over my shoulder.I am looking for something with wheels that I can push with my camera & tripod. So all I have to do is lift it out of the cart & set it up.I don’t think they make such a thing,do they? If so please let me know!

Hmmm. I love challenges. Several potential ideas here for re-purposing. I have enough stuff in my garage to do a prototype.
What equipment do you use and approximate weight. your height?
Now the problem is that I am a Wolverine and may get in trouble for helping a Buckeye! (insert big chuckle)

The current, sagacious thoughts by the ones who know, say the best nature shots should be taken at the same level as the subject. I can agree, but I can't gain the hight of a bird in a tree nor am I going to lay in the mud for a photo beside if I was at the same level as this wood Duck I would not be able to get the reflection, which (to me) is the best part of this image. And as always thank you. If you are interested in more Ct. nature by Whistletown Wilds click on- https://www.flickr.com/photos/136904201@N08/

I had a thought today to try my 300mm PF lens with some extension tubes. While setting up, eureka, I do own an AF-S lens. So I decided to test it out using my focus shift feature on the D850. So F/8 stacked vs. F/18. These photos are not cropped.

First one, but not by a whole lot.

These shots were taken on Fir Island in Skagit County Washington last Tuesday. It was a clear, cold day. Thousands of snow geese were leisurely spending the day pecking in the mud and grass when an eagle flew by. Then this happened. It's the closest I have been to a snow goose explosion in quite awhile. I was lucky not to get pooped on. Taken with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150x600MM G2 lens. I welcome your comments/criticisms/suggestions.

GREAT set. That lens is capturing alot of great shots. I shoot Canon 7D and 1D mkiv with a 100-400L. But, I really like this lens from photos and reviews. I think I'm getting GAS attack. Again, great set.

I generally stick to batteries from the camera manufacturer. However, I chanced across a link online to a Duracell battery that is 50% the cost of the manufacturer's battery for one of my cameras. With Duracell being a name brand, I wonder if it’s worth spending the extra money on OEM? Does anyone have any experience with Duracell brand batteries made for cameras, or in general just have thoughts to share?

Thanks!

Have non-OEM batteries in my T1i, 7D. takes longer to charge but performance is fine. My 1D mk iv is in need, not gonna be scared to go with a well-reviewed non-OEM.
A friend's Son did a Science Fair project by comparing several brands of batteries (not Camera Batts) made for everyday use. AAA, AA, C, D. The off brands lasted longer than the top brands. He attributed this to shelf time. People bought the "off" brands to save money over "top" brands. His conclusion was the age of the battery was more important than the brand.
