My son and I are very interested in astrophotography. We have many questions about connecting a camera to our telescopes. He has a Konus i don't remember the focal length and other info on his.
Mine is a Meade 90mm Starnavigator. I have a set of 6 eye pieces that he and I share, 1.25.
I inherited a Dobsonian a few years back but haven't used it since it needs a 2 inch eye piece opening it's 12 inch diameter with a view finder attach. We don't have a mount for it yet but I'm assuming equatorial would work best with this beast.
We have many questions about it also.
I will tell him about this website so we can both be on here.
My main question is what's the best way to attach the camera it's a Nikon D40, and he has a Sony and a Cannon.
Anyway I'm glad I found this.

WELCOME. Tons of info here. Some folks kinda cranky but most OK, A search before you ask will go along way. Share what you get, we are all curious about other photography. Heads up...there's a Nude section. NOT PORN, but Nude depending on your Sons age.

Stephen welcome aboard with your son. Check out our Astro section.
Welcome. I use my Sony a6000, a7s and a7iii on my Mead 60 and also Celestron C-8. Before the solar eclipse, I bought an adapter from Mead which also fits the Celestron. I would go to the telescope manufacturer site and see about adapters. If the Sony is an E-mount then adapters are very inexpensive on eBay. Welcome again
