Just bought my first SLR - a Nikon D90, lens and batteries!!! Waiting impatiently for the batts to charge!!!

I've had that camera for about 3 years and I love it! I think it's a classic. Never had a problem with it and love the pics it takes.
You made a great choice!

These mins are located just South of Moab. The view is from near our campsite

That looks like it was taken from The Needles in Canyonlands NP. A spectacular place.

Just after a rain at San Onofre State Beach in California at dawn, I was attracted to the reflections in this mud puddle. Please download this one.

Here are a few more efforts, this time with some in flight (and in line). It's overcast, and there isn't enough light to bump up the shutter speed much more to stop wing action. The originals were really dark but lightened in pp.

I'm still looking for advice.

My advice to you is keep shooting because your pics are always excellent!

We will go out against the sun
Where the rolling scarp retires
And the Long Man of Wilmington
Looks naked to the shires
Where little, lost down churches praise the Lord of hills and sky's
And close-bit thyme perfumes the days like Dawn in paradise

Beautiful countryside and poem. Well done photo.

Excellent shots, bicyclerepairman! Chikadee's are hard to photograph 'cause they don't sit still for very long, but you did a great job!

Thanks sailorsmom!

Thought I'd contribute some bird pics. It was a pretty day.

I wasn't going to take my camera when I took the dogs for a hike the other morning, but grabbed it at the last minute. The fog started to lift just enough to improve the light without losing its softness.

Feel free to make suggestions for improvement.

Oh I think the first 3 are great. The difference between a snapshot (which is what most people post here) and an artistic photo.

Nice pic.
A wonderful bird is the pelican,
His beak can hold more than his belly can.

quite possibly. I just read that at 1:1 focus distance the smallest fstop available would be 5.6. I appreciate the reply, and am relieved to know that this is normal behavior for a macro lens.
Thanks.
