I wasn't going to take my camera when I took the dogs for a hike the other morning, but grabbed it at the last minute. The fog started to lift just enough to improve the light without losing its softness.

Feel free to make suggestions for improvement.

Nice!

The path adds to the interest in #1 over the zoomed #3.

Thanks for the feedback Moxie. I was thinking it was more of a leading line into the scene but needed confirmation from someone else with an objective eye.

Nice images vicksart :-)

the line leads your eye in and then out of the scene in 1. 3 allows you to stay in the scene. If you had moved to your left in 1 and started the path at the right hand side of the image and let it lead you in to the rest of the scene it would have been more effective.

Beautiful shots. It takes a good eye to see the beauty and it's light.. Also, how can you even think about NOT taking your camera? A great shot arises and it's one of those times that we don't bring the camera. I am sure we have all done that... Plus it adds a little weight.. lol.. love your photos..

There's an area on the path that branches slightly to the right and back into the scene. I was wondering whether it might have worked better to crop more of the left to make better use of that piece. Maybe I'll play with it a bit more to see whether I can make it work better - even a little cloning to enhance that area. I think moving more to the left might have put the sun directly in front and I would have lost the rays or the diagonal effect I was getting from this angle.

I like the path as is... with it curving to the left it skirts the incoming rays of light and adds to the effect... but that's just me.
