Always nice to see photos of the old town, mind you, I think I would get lost there now, as it has changed so much from the 50s and 60s when I used to go down there on a Saturday Night, ie the George Pub IN Canning Place,
thanks for posting Briace, Colin

Hello every one, this if just a short backup to my last post showing a Blackbirds Nes in my Garage,
Well I have monitored them every day over the last few days, and am pleased to say that I think there has been a happy ending, however around three days ago, both my wife and I were quite concerned, as the young in the best seemed to be lifeless, no movement from them at all, I could just see some breathing movement from them, but to be quite honest thought that by morning they may have died.
However the following morning , one bird was out of the nest, and another standing up in the nest, the other two nowhere to be seen, Today both out of the nest, and I think that they are all OK,
I only managed to get a photo of one of them, and incorporated it in the Collage I have posted,
I certainly know that my photos have not been the best, but I feel privileged to have been able to photograph, the start of life, in a wild bird, and will treasure these photos
Cheers Colin
Oh just for interest, it was just 23 days from eggs in the nest, to young birds out of the nest, I find that incredible,

Well I must Admit that these area not the best quality photos, but thought you may like to see anyway,

on the 26th October I saw a nest in my garage, which was empty, first thoughts where to throw it out, but then I thought, it might just be going to be used by some bird, so I left it alone, well a couple of days later, there were four eggs in the nest, a pale blue in colour, was not sure what kind of bird it was, so I just waited, and low and behold it was a Blackbird, I monitored the nest daily and got some photos when I could, so far the four eggs have hatched ok, and Mamma Blackbird is looking after them Ok,
One good thing, where the nest is, it it undercover and out of the rain and wind, so with a bit of luck all four babies should be Ok,
As time goes on I will post photos of there progress,

First sighting of eggs in the nest, 28/Oct

May I get some help from fellow hoggers,

I have a Canon 600d, ie 3ti. which i find for my needs to be fine, also a 70x300 is usm lens, not the L version, do you think if i had a 1.4 of 2.0 extender. i would have any good improvement.in my zoom. or would it not be a good idea?
at present i get around 460mm from my lens, and if i had say the 1.4 ex. i think i would get around 640mm which for bird photos would be much better, any comments please, Thanks.

Hi Robert, re 14c that is about 57f,

so now the rest of the world who are way behind the eight ball Knows,

Its about time you got into the metric system, ie ltrs not gallons, meters not feet and inches, I mean the Olympic games, does all the measurements this way, that is not the Mile race, but the 1500mtr, etc,

Now i am not being bloody minded, I was born in the Uk, and have had to change to the metric system, and believe me it is so much better, even you have 100cents to a dollar, not like we used to have 240 pennies ti the pound, so why dont you go all the way, like most of the rest of the world has, Have a good day Colin

Now can I ask all those people who think that the Australian, Gov was wrong, Yes i agree that the Imigration prople need waking up, Can I bring into your country my dog without going through the right chanels , I think not, Yes I have brought a dog into Australia from New Zealand some years ago, but as in my case, did it the right way, and with no problems,
Have people never heard of Rabies, yes it does exist, and we dont want it being brought into Australia, and neither does any other country, I may be taking my dog to New Zealand, but believe me, I will do it the correct way, NOT IN MY PRIVATE JET,
