That' the result of plastic lens mount of the that 18-105mm lens, when you twisted to mount the lens incorrectly it will be easily off track and jam, same as mount a screw type plastic lens hook to the metal front of a lens, it's so easy to be jammed cross-thread!
So the only way to take out the lens is force it out, it could only damage the plastic mount of the lens not the metal mount of the camera, after that you can find a replacement mount (even metal mount ) on Ebay, I heard some body did the replacement because he didn't like the plastic mount on his lens.

I have heard many stories like this being caused by those CHEAP plastic mounts

A 7 page (and counting) "debate" about the merits of "getting it right in the camera" versus post-processing to achieve the desired image has been accumulating at http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-193013-1.html. Here are two very simple questions. Please answer yes or no plus the name of the software you prefer without commentary.
1) Do you perform any post-camera processing of your digital photos: yes or no?
2) If you answered yes, what is the name of your preferred primary post-processing software?

I'll total the answers up tomorrow.

AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED N

Anyone use this lens? Comments?

I have the opportunity to buy a used one in mint condition
2 years old in box and used for 2 weeks by a photography
teacher at a local college. I have tried the lens and it appears to work as designed.

Thanks

Thought I might show everyone a neat setup I put together. The GPS used to sit on the hot shoe making it impossible to open the flash. I thought to my self, self, how do I mount this GPS somewhere else. It did come with a strap mount but I think the cord constantly being flailed around can not be good for it. Then I saw this bracket online at B&H. If a flash can sit on the bracket why not the GPS. It works and the bracket makes holding the camera steady a little easier. Plus the flash mount is a locking type so the GPS does not fall off. The bracket is well made from machined aluminum and sturdy.

Promote Systems is the manufacture and GPS-N-1 is the model.
Was in the title.

We just had a similar post, of the same (Tamron) lens for sale ealier today. Why wouldnt you post a photo of THE lens you're offering?! I'd like to see an image of the front and rear elements, and the serial #. It'd make your sale easier, and our suspiscions fewer.

OK! Took some photos with my cellphone and listed the serial number. And YES I did pay $375 for it and if anyone wants the lens they can have it for $375. I am selling only because this 180mm is a 270mm on my D300. I might as well have a telescope mounted on the D300. Way to much lens. I made a mistake buying it. I need maybe a 35mm, 40mm or 50mm lens.

He also didn't mention that he purchased this lens for $375 in an earlier post.

What I paid for the lens has no bearing on its worth or what I should sell it for.

You seemed to have forgotten to mention about the hair inside the lens that is stuck on the element. Not that it has any effect on the exposure but to just be honest about the sale. After all, you mentioned the hair and was afraid it may be a problem for you in a earlier post. Other people may not like the hair as well.

I took the lens to Midwest Camera repair and they removed the hair. It was on the rear lens and not inside as I thought. Cost me $20.

It wasn't the mount, the aperture ring at rotated. :-)

Some lens have a lock to keep the aperture ring from accidentally being turned. On the D7000 it is just an annoyance. Had this been a film camera it would have been wasted shots. ALL lens with aperture rings should have a lock in my opinion.

Does anyone know how to contact Topaz support? Yesterday I got an email with an offer for Topaz Simplify for $19.95 reduced from 39.95 so I ordered it thinking that there was a way to get the discount. But it went through as 39.95.
There does not seem to be any way to call or email them!
Help!
Thanks

While you may not have got the $19.95 deal, you have not been cheated at $39.95. Topaz filters are top notch.
